Is it me?
But a few times I have selected to show nearby chargers - most/many are behind me.
I would think Ford Development would be wise to add more control to this and create/offer a filter of closest chargers - in the current direction of travel - ie not behind me!
I wish there was further integration of 3rd party apps. You really need a copilot to manage what possible charge points are coming up, how far, availability at the location. On a long trip the navigator needs to also create choice a,b,c based on availability, distance, and rate of charge available.

I like your idea about A,B,C options.
When you're saying its suggesting chargers that are behind you, are you actively using a destination in the nav? If so, I get your frustration, but most of the time I'm driving, I don't have a destination set in the navigation, and if that's the case, it seems like the truck would have to read your mind to know where you're headed next.

It would be nice for the navigation to give options on which chargers are near you. Especially if a charger is broken or it's busy. It would help ease the stress of finding a charger.

it's true that the Ford 'charger locations' list is not perfect - it can't read our minds : / and yes, I've had the same 'issue' with it not realizing what direction I am ALREADY traveling in - I don't need to know about chargers that I've already passed, unless I ask it so. I think the truck's navigation is smart enough to realize what direction you are moving, and should therefore provide feedback that makes sense for that direction. The last thing we need to do is to turn 'around' and go the OPPOSITE direction!

I get it that engineers aren't always assuming that we have a direction in mind, but it seems that the list should be more aggregated toward the 'direction' your truck is heading, otherwise you find yourself having to 'scroll' down the list, sometimes MANY pages, to see ANYTHING in the direction you are traveling. Maybe a MAP would be the best option, NOT a list.

Does this happen when you have an active route set in the navigation system?

Unless I'm travelling an active route, and until DCFC locations are on every corner, I'd rather know about the 350 kW EA station behind me than the Harley dealer's 25 kW closest to the frunk. If I'm using on-board navigation, I agree, you should know about a DCFC before you pass it.

It does give a map in the background besides the list. The nav seems to make a diamond around the vehicle location on the map and includes all chargers within that diamond.

Just two days ago while on a planned route from the Bay Area to Southern California on Hwy 101 the navigation system turned me around and nearly left me stranded! I was seriously worried. My first charge stop was supposed to be EA in Atascadero. So as I’m driving along I occasionally compare the difference between the GOM and the distance to the charging station. At around 100 miles to destination it showed I would have about 30 miles left “in the tank” when I reached the charger. The buffer gradually decreased as I continued my trip to 25 miles and then to 18 miles on the GOM when the charge station was about 5 miles away. I was watching closely, but not losing any fingernails. Then all of a sudden the navigation system popped up a little window with additional charging locations and changed my route. That’s when I started to panic just a little. Does it know something that I don’t about the EA in Atascadero perhaps not working? Should I follow the new instructions? I had only a few seconds to decide because it wanted me to take the very next exit. So I decided to put my faith in Ford and listen to my navigation system, trusting that it knew something more than me, and I took the exit. It routed me back on 101 heading the opposite direction to an EA at Bank of America in Paso Robles that it said was 3.7 miles away. I followed the directions to the new destination and found, to my horror and dismay, that all of the chargers there were brand spanking new and still wrapped in plastic with caution tape around them! No chargers were available. (See photo below) I now had 14 miles on the GOM and I was seriously getting worried. I used the Ford app to find the next closest charger, and was quite perturbed to see that it was the very same EA in Atascadero that I was originally being routed to and now it was 8.7 miles away! I used another app to search for chargers outside the Ford network. There were supposedly a couple of 6kW ChargePoint locations close but the latest reviews on the app said at least one was out of service. I decided to stick with Ford and head back to the EA in Atascadero not knowing what I would find. I prepared myself for the possibility of being stranded for the very first time and imagined calling for a tow and every other nightmare scenario. I made it to Atascadero and the EA station there was just fine. I had a few more gray hairs and lost some time and some confidence in Ford, but I got charged up and continued my journey. Bottom line though, @Ford Motor Company is why on Earth did the navigation system do this to me? The EA in Paso Robles had clearly been unavailable for some time during refurbishment, but still remained in the FordPass app and navigation system as up and running. I also understand that there are supposedly some “miles left in the tank” even when the GOM reaches zero, but I don’t want to test that theory personally.

Yes, when using the Ford navigation, unlike Google Maps, which may also include some behind you, but tells you how for off your route they are.
