If you only put it in neutral and get out of the seat the truck will put itself in Park. If you need it to roll through a carwash without being in the seat you'll want to make sure you understand that new "N" button.I saw this in another post and meant to ask, what’s wrong with just putting the gear in neutral? What’s the functionality difference here?
Thanks!Stay In Neutral Mode (holds it in neutral) for car wash, rollback wrecker, Kyle Connor out of charge push off road, etc.
If the Lightning is like my '22 150 Powerboost that button also lets you "manually" shift (kinda like sport-mode) using the +/- buttons on the side of the shift handle.
I think without the "manual" button the +/- locks out gears for when you're towing; with the button pressed you can force the shift up/down.
That would be interesting on a one-speed transmission. If the Lightning is like my '22 150 Powerboost that button also lets you "manually" shift (kinda like sport-mode) using the +/- buttons on the side of the shift handle.

I haven't tried that yet. Only clicked it down 2-3 so it seemed to go from 10-speed automatic to 7-speed. Next time I'm in the truck I'll see how low it will let me go.That would be interesting on a one-speed transmission.![]()
At least it works unlike being able to connect the Charge Station Pro to FordPass (which makes your wifi connected CSP completely useless as a smart charger - Thankfully it works fine as a dumb charger)Just little things like this button alone make the read of the Owners manual kind of worth it. I say kind of, because despite a lot of good information in it, it is poorly written and gets very confusing going back and forth between the two screen sizes. It could be so much better done and likely needs two versions to make it easier to read.
yeah, and it's a LONG read too, which doesn't help. But there's definitely a lot of good info in there for sure... you just have to work a little to get it!Just little things like this button alone make the read of the Owners manual kind of worth it. I agree, trying to skip to the appropriate screen size section is annoying. Two versions would have been much easier (and shorter).Just little things like this button alone make the read of the Owners manual kind of worth it.
