as soon as you check the Extended Battery option on the XLT, you've blown past the $80,000 cap to qualify for the tax credit.

Bang up job, Blue Oval.
Would you rather Ford lose money on the trucks?

1. I was mistaken....the battery drivetrain selection is invoiced as an option, and not counted against the MSRP for tax credit purposes.

2. so weird that the price increase is sooooo close to the $7500 point-of-sale tax credit. Just a coincidence, I'm sure.

Its not just the price that disqualifies the F-150 Lightning from the revised EV tax credit anyway, literally zero current EVs would qualify.

The real issue is this dealer allocation nonsense vs FIFO that's gonna screw a lot of early pre-order people over from getting the current tax credit. That and dealers moving people around in their own queues. Ideally you would want to get your truck delivered before the end of this year. I had my pre-order 5/20 early morning and I have not heard so much as a peep about it from Ford or the local dealer I chose.

Per usual, every news article phrases the issue differently regarding current reservation holders, but this note from thedrive.com is unique: "Meanwhile, reservation holders for the truck that haven't placed an order due to their desired spec being unavailable will receive a private offer from Ford." Could it be that those who refrained from ordering MY22 and opted to extend their reservations will still get MY22 pricing? That would be a nice gesture. Perhaps we'll see Thursday.

Well there goes me getting one. My two options were Lariat LR and trade my model 3 in, or get pro version for the price they had and keep model 3 for road trips. Now both options just busy through my budget. And I researched in first 5 days.
