I’ve noticed my mobile charger that is connected via NEMA 14-50 is showing a partial amber color on the blue indicator of the charger. I have also noticed recently that my truck is only getting about 5kw of electricity per hour during routine charges when previously it was getting over 6 kw per hour. I’m assuming the charger is de-rating due to a charging issue, but I’m not sure what’s the issue. The cable is only warm after several hours of charging, not hot. Nothing has changed with my plug but I will say the mobile charger hangs from the plug versus being fixed to the wall and then plugged in. So maybe this downward pressure is causing a bad connection?

anyone seen this before or know what’s going on?

Make sure the plug is pushed all the way in on the top of the charger?
I checked that and it appears fully seated together. I did notice that the amber light goes away as soon a I unplug and does not return once I plug back into the truck and it starts charging again. Based on the mobile charging manual, the amber light on the left, with a pulsing blue light and no red light, means the charger has reduced the charging rate due to overheating. Question is now, what’s causing it to overheat when nothing about my set up has changed. Maybe some wires have loosened up since I installed the NEMA 14-50. May have to have my electrician check it out

I've seen the exact same fault with my mobile charger. When this occurs, the vehicle will charge much slower than it typical. I had it into the dealer and asked them to check out the charger and replace the unit. They tested the unit and found nothing wrong. Recently I've seen a bliking red light where the charging will pause altogether.

So a level 2 charge with no dedicated circuit? I had an electrician do a dedicated level 2 & it works perfect. However, when I use level 1 for example in a cold garage - that circuit is not dedicated & another plug in breaker switch goes out in the garage - 1 time so far this winter - and I've seen the mobile charger go to amber & red.

Thanks for your feedback. Yes a Level 2 charger (NEMA) installed by a professional on a dedicated circuit..a hold over system I used with my 2015 Tesla for years. On the best day, the truck gets about 10- 12 miles/hour.. much slower than the Tesla..the garage is cold and it's typically going amber overnight.. so on wake up.. not the charge I expected. I'm assuming it's the cord..

Yes and that seems like a warranty item that the dealer will try to outfox you on similar to how my dealer behaves!
I was getting a 'GPS signal lost' voice on start up at times - dealer service said a 4 hour fix - it just needed an adjustment on my Galaxy android device - no soup for the dealer billing Ford corp for 4 hours!
