Merry Christmas All!

I got my ER Lariat in October. Guess o Meter showed 300 miles when I picked it up. After first driving the 100% charge gave a guess of 240 miles. Now I am charging to 90%. And my Guess O meter is usually around 22-240 miles.

My driving is primarily highway at 70 MPH.

My mi/KWH is usually around 1.7.

My question to all of you, is 1.7 mi/KWH typical for highway driving?

Appreciate any insights you can provide.

1.7 mi/kWh is typical in cool weather at 70 mph. When it gets colder or you drive faster, it will go down from there. Driving slower in milder weather will get closer to 2.0 mi/kWh

This week we have been 10 degrees or less and I am getting a range at 90% of 190 -200 miles
1.7 mi/kWh x 131 kWh battery capacity x 90% charge = 200.43 mi Range

Assuming you have home charging, are you typically needing to drive more than 150 miles between charges?

Thanks for all the replies and insight. I also just found the following while perusing the forum. “ To get 300 miles you have to be doing at or better than 2.290 mi/kWh and 2.442 mi/kWh for 320 miles”

Those numbers help me understand the calculation. And my driving habits will likely prevent me from ever getting near the advertised range.😝

Thank you for the formula!!
I am usually no more than 60 miles on any day. Occasionally I want to do a longer trip and just trying to plan the trips better.

The 320 miles of EPA range assume 55% of driving is in stop and go traffic.

My consumption (for the Pro SR) over 4100 miles of mostly highway driving (90%+ highway), at 70+MPH is 2 mi/kWh (and this has gone down from 2.2 when the weather was warmer for the first 3000 miles or so). This is in NJ, for reference, from September to date.

I posted in the cold range thread but a week ago I got 2.3 mi/kWh doing 70 mph max over 44 miles. Temp was 30s F. That's without climate. I got 1.9 mi/kWh (which was screwed up because the meter didn't reset) with climate.

I try to stay under 70, especially in winter as this really helps with the range and the side bonus is that it is safer. I get around 2.3.

Yes, my similar truck is 220-240. I drive primarily 75-80 mph in AZ.

Agreed, I get 220-240 reading and drive 75-80mph on Arizona highways. Recently purchased 50amp portable generator so I can get to my house in Mexico since the charging stations are nonexistent down there.

This is a spreadsheet I created showing 3 scenarios. The 100% of battery and it's range in the second column and the range with 10% left in the third, since no one wants to run down to zero. Then an 80% charge which is what you would do at a DC fast charger, and finally a 90% charge which you may do at home. The cost per mile is based on my home electric rate of $0.132/kW

That's very helpful. Do you have it as a pdf or spreadsheet that you could post?

That middle band 80% SoC w/10% residual between 1.4 and 2.2 mi/kWh yielding a 147-231 mi. range between charging (ER) seems like it would meet the needs of a lot of the fleet.

I'm in nj too when I'm in stop and go I range from 3.3 to 4.8 and when I'm on the highway I get 1.2 to 2.0 that's only in the freezing cold weather we've had in December alone. My Mach e gt this summer was amazing 2.6 and up on the highway but summertime u Kno.
