I noticed that too. When I used the build and price when it first came out, you couldn't get the Max Tow Package on the Lariat ER without going over $80K. Then when I ordered on Thursday, I was pleasantly surprised that you could get it and stay $6 under $80K. I ordered it, whereas before I wasn't going to because of the BBB concern.

I actually believe the current tax credit and possibly the wording of the BBB legislation basically says to qualify the electric vehicle has to have at least one model that is below the set maximum amount (I think currently $80k) and this allows higher specked vehicles in the lineup to still qualify. Thus why you see the platinum trim showing “after tax credit” pricing on some of FORDs documents that have been circulating around.

I have read several places where this is mentioned but I’m not sure if these articles are providing accurate information. I wasn’t able to confirm on the IRS website that there is currently a MSRP limit. The changes the article is referring to may be to different versions of BBB.
Also, this next article explains how vehicle lines with some models priced below the maximum amount for BBB would essentially qualify the more expensive models in the line for the credit.
