I have had my Lariat Extended Range for approximately 3 weeks. During this time, I have only ever charged the battery to 100% three times. All other times I have it scheduled to charge to 85%.

The first time charging to 100% reported a range of 498 KM.

The second time it reported a range of 428 KM.

Today, it reported a range of 389 KM.

It really doesn’t make sense. There have been no drastic changes in the weather and my driving is fairly conservative.

Is this something I should have looked at? Are there some diagnostic tools on the truck I can run myself? Am I the only one experiencing this?

Your range isn’t changing, the estimate of your range when the truck knows nothing about where you’re going or how you’ll be driving is changing.

You state that you only charged to 100% 3 times, but you’ve only had it 3 weeks. That seems like a lot to me. ive had my Model 3 for almost 4 years and I’ve probably only charged it to 100% a dozen times. If you are charging to 100%, don’t let it sit at that state of charge for an extended period, meaning start driving it within an hour of 100% as keeping the SOC at max is not good for the battery. There are plenty of people on YouTube talking about how they ruined their batteries (at least in the early days of Tesla) by charging to the max without driving very soon after. Also keep in mind that in the beginning there will be slight battery degradation but it will be minimal. Keep in mind that the cold will decrease your range as well. Good luck nd I hope to be driving my Lightning within a week or so….just in time for the cold New England weather.

Agree with @MicheleFrankie and would add that you should occasionally let the battery get down to 20% before recharging back to 80-85. Exercise the battery some if you’re not already.
And as others have said, the Lightning is guessing your range based on driving habits and utilization to date, so that’ll vary over time.

I seem to have had the same problem. I got my truck home and fully charged the extended range battery and it said 256 miles of range. I did drive around 87 on the freeway home so I am assuming it degraded the full charge range due to my driving habits. It is supposed to learn.

For the record, this is not a "problem". All it is doing is predicting your range based on your driving. For most people this will be less than the official "rating".

"Your mileage may differ" is a real thing... especially if you drive 87MPH.

I reset the history and range went to 293. I did drive a few miles after the 100 percent charge so that makes sense. We'll see what city driving does which is what I'll be doing for awhile. I also stumbled on the audio settings and got that set up nicely
