Maybe the first matte wrapped F150 lightning in the wild! When I received my Carbonized Grey Metallic lightning, I thought it needed a little help to make it stand out. The guys at OCDetailing in Fremont, CA were more than up to the task, and it turned out wonderful! The black handles were their idea and I think it works.

They used Xpel Stealth wrap to both protect and give it the look I was looking for. They finished it with a CQuartz ceramic coating to make it super easy to wash and keep natures little droppings from eating into anything. They also put a 3M Crystalline tint on the front side windows to help with heat management and look as well.

For those interested in the tonneau cover, it is a Bakflip MX4, which was also coated in the ceramic.

So for anyone thinking about doing something similar, this is hopefully what you can expect. I will post the video review that OCDetailing took of the install and post as soon as it is finished.

More than I am willing to admit, but the quality of the finished product speaks for itself. If you are in the Bay Area, I suggest you give OCDetailing a call. I checked with 4 shops, and the discounted quote I received from OCDetailing was in-line with the quoted rates at cheaper shops. But with 100% 5-star reviews on Yelp, lifetime warranty, and something I only plan to do once, I felt it was worth it to pay a slight premium.

yes, lightning badging had to be removed. I have a bag of letters to put back on. All badging had to be removed but they put the others back on afterwards. The lightning lettering is a much bigger job. I have two options, buy A new set from ford or place them individually on my own.

Thanks for letting me know. Was there a reason they didn't put the letters back on? I'm trying to prepare for my PPF installment.
