I haven't found a dealership yet that has a plan on how to sell the Pro mannequin at the end of six months.

First come, first serve?
Highest offer?
Deal on the down low?
Deposit?
Gotta know the right person?

BTW, my nearest dealer sold theirs and then claimed it wasn't a mannequin. They actually said they never had a mannequin but have been selling other Lightnings. Boo hiss on them.

Every dealer will be different. I happen to know of a couple of cases where the dealers have "Sold" the mannequin already by agreeing to a price and taking a deposit and having something like a future dated Sales Agreement. They just happen to then protect it by putting it on the floor and not allow it to be driven. So you need to reach out to them and make offers and see what they would do, but each is very likely to be different in how they handle this.

To clarify, the dealer that sold their mannequin, it's off the lot, the buyer took delivery. It's gone. That is why they are claiming they never had a mannequin.

But, back on topic. Dealers can do whatever they want then with the mannequins(?) There is no plan from Ford on how to do it? I can bum rush them like a parent buying the hot toy at x-mas on the 6 months + 1 day morning? That doesn't seem right, they'll have to come up with a better plan than that. The deposit on the highest offer seems most likely.

My dealer, where I bought our Mach-e and Ioniq 5, called me the minute their mannequin rolled off the truck in June, asking if I wanted to come test drive and put a $500 deposit to be first in line to buy at MSRP after the 6 months was up. I have no reservation, so I jumped on it. We just signed a P&S to that effect last week. They are letting reservation holders and ”serious” buyers test drive it, last I knew it had around 2K miles on it. They let me take it home for a weekend to play with it and show my wife. My buddy took it for a weekend to show it off at an EV car show.

To further clarify, the demo model was not replaced by another Lightning. The dealer agreement is that the dealer must replace the sold mannequin (demo) with another Lightning so there is always one on the lot.

the DEMO unit is nothing more than another truck in their inventory, it just has to wait 6 months to be sold, that's all.

But again, back on topic, anyone else know how dealers are going to sell their mannequins?
