Hey folks,

I have a '23 Lightning Pro (SR). While I'm loving the truck, I think a Model Y would better fit the needs of my family. I figured there are some folks out there who got tired of waiting for a Pro and got a model Y instead (with the new price drops). How about a swap? If you're interested, drop me a PM.

Specs:
  • Carbonized Gray Metallic
  • Pro Power Onboard (9.6 kW)
  • Max Trailer Tow Package
  • Heated seats
  • Mobile Power Cord included
  • Gator ETX soft rollup tonneau cover
  • Took delivery on 2/2/23
  • 1200 miles on odometer (putting in about 300 per week). Has worked great so far.

The truck is paid in full, but I'm still waiting for the title to show up. Dealer said 1-2 months is typical. We can negotiate based on what you've got, but ideally I'm looking for a low-mileage (<5k) Model Y Long Range. Ideally not white or red, but I'm open. I'm thinking we can do a clean swap and you pay my sales tax (as far as I know, the only way to swap is to sell our vehicles to one another). I don't foresee any issues regarding the tax credit: I keep mine, you keep yours.
I'm willing to take one last adventure with the Lightning and drive out up to 5 hours in any direction (from Connecticut). Let's talk!

I'm bumping this up. If you have a new Model Y (or even a low-mileage 2022), and interested in a Lightning, I'm open to negotiate. Also, I'll consider straight-up selling as well. Would like to get $60k for it (or close to it). I put in a Model Y order just to buy me some time for that scenario.

Good call putting the order in. Model Y owners (me included) tend to be a pretty happy group, may not be a lot of us looking to part with them.

But they also like the latest versions which is hardware 4. Tesla is becoming very similar to Apple in this manner. I put an order for a TMYP after big price drop and fortunately never proceeded with the sales process. I would have wanted a hardware 4 equipped vehicle. Just today Tesla sent an email saying they will cancel my original order by March 20th. Maybe hardware 4 TMY vehicles will be available soon and Tesla doesn’t want to honor Feb prices. It could also have something to do with clarification of IRA and future prices.

It’s a lot easier to complete a sale that is already started than to motivate a buyer to initially click the buy button. Keep them in the cue so to speak. I am not a fan of Tesla’s non refundable order fee. Most people do not like fees and incurring losses. Keep it as a Tesla store or SC credit and buyer just forfeits the original price. Buyers remorse is also real with Tesla vehicles when the prices and features can change without notice.

We hope your steering wheel won’t detach while driving…😏😏😏

“It was horrible experience, I was driving back from mall with family and in middle of freeway steering wheel fell off,” said Prerak Patel. “I was on left lane when this happened, I can’t move my car to left or right. ”However I was lucky that road was straight and able to stop my car at the divider.”
Patel said there were no cars behind him, and there were no injuries in the incident.

also for own safety, operate the manual door releases a few times a year and make sure your whole family is trained on them - you don’t wanna be caught inside a vehicle on fire without the ability to open the doors…
