Figured we should keep a thread of rumors to track what everyone is hearing from Dealers. Go ahead and post down below when your Dealership reaches out.

For starters, my Dealership reached out today and told me to prepare for an Order date in January. Reached out to a neighboring dealership here in Southern California and they said December 20th.

Good question. Just for fun with no inside information here's some numbers. I've heard 15,000 Lightnings available in 2022. There might be around 16,000 Ford dealers nationwide. I've read some dealers have hundreds of reservations. Let's say Ford truly allocates a truck based on the time stamp of the customer reservation (not the same as an actual 'order'?) then only the first 15,000 reservations will get a truck...time will tell, unless someone has a clear understanding of the Ford policy now.

So I just placed my reservation last week. But my dealer does not have any reservations for the ford lightning. Do you think this will help me receive the first batch?
Best information is Ford will open the order system in waves with the first wave for early reservation holders. New reservations are likely to result in trucks in late 2023 or 2024. Dealer allocations will have little impact on vehicle delivery schedule.

I spoke to my dealer here in So Cal, and after telling me that I'm number 80 something out of around 300 on the dealer book, he said he'd talk to his GM about putting me on the priority list (I'd be #2). I got the phone call today that the GM will not allow any prioritization of the Lightnings; not even to employees. Stoked yesterday, and bummed today. What a difference a day makes. :(

I think most dealers aren't doing prioritization unless it is dire circumstances. At least that's the impressions I'm getting.

You should contact your dealer. From what I understand dealers get a certain allotment most 5. I don’t see why yours would be any different. If I owned that dealership I’d lose my shit if I got 0. I’d imagine at worst they only got 1 which would be yours. Let’s us know what you find out.

Your reservation only sets your place in line at your particular dealership if they don’t choose to prioritize somebody else

Some will prioritize, some will not. All can only prioritize a set amount. It's a fair game. If a few are willing to pay more to jump line, or have a long history at that dealership, that's cool. I'm first at my dealership due to timing, so if they want to make a few extra bucks off somebody so they can jump ahead, I'm cool with that as I'm still a first wave order. Timing will tell if I get the Rivian or the Ford anyways, so there are options.

Some dealerships used the priority process to move up existing customers and those whom they know actually want to place an order.

All prioritization had to be submitted by dealers by Dec. 17th.

Please mark Line 152 as delivered. Also: Actual Build Date: 6/29/2022. Scheduled Delivery Date: 7/27/2022. Actual Delivery Date: 8/16/2022 (Driver Shortage was reason for delay)
Mark up: "0"
Done.

Thank you very much for tracking all of these. Last night was the first night out and the headlights are great, they follow the steering wheel like my Lincoln did, also the automatic high beam lowers down to on coming traffic and the rises again when they pass. Unexpected and keep discovering more treats.
