Hello all!

Since no one has started this, I thought I'd get this started. My real name if Mike and I live in Sioux Falls, SD. I was a May 20 morning reservation, but did not get a MY22 allocation, but thinking I should be early MY23. Very hopeful I get the call in August. I currently drive a V8 2008 King Ranch F150 with about 160k miles on it. I absolutely love my truck, particularly since I can use E85 which is easy to buy here, but it is starting to rust pretty bad, and having other problems. (Engine still purrs like a kitty, though....) It is time to move on, and I look forward the the local driving/regional driving convenience, but admit I'm a little worried about 10 runs I make to Fargo, ND each year with very few DC charging options. (I just wish they all were in summer, but they are not....) However, I'm still going to take the plunge expecting I-29 to be high on the EV station upgrade map since there is so little there. (Elon has a 350 kW flame thrower in Watertown, SD which would solve my issues.....) I plan on buying an ER Lariat when I get the chance.

So, please tell where you are from, and a bit of your story so we can get to know each other in the fantastic part of the country!

I live in NE Kansas, drive 2021 Nissan Leaf plus and a 2011 Ram 1500 (driven as little as possible with current gas prices) I have a 32 KW solar system that runs my house and keeps my Leaf charged just fine.

Hey, My name is Ben Pierson. I am the Manager of Beneficial Electrification at Sioux Valley Energy in Colman, SD. I was doing some research on Lightnings in SD, seeing if I could find anyone locally that owns one. I am planning our 2nd annual EV ride and drive event and EV car show to be held in Sioux Falls, SD. I am wondering if you know of anyone in SD that already owns a Lightning in the area and would be interested in participating in the EV car show. If not, where would be a good place to find someone? Thanks for your help!

Check with your local Ford dealer they might be interested in using their demo for those puroses. Good luck
I did reach out to them and they are providing their demo for test drives, which is great. I would also like to have one to show for people to look at, since the one for test driving will likely not stop being test drove from the start of the event to the end. In addition to having one to look at, I would love to get the owner's perspective for people looking at it, because I think that is extremely valuable.

Approximately where in NE Kansas do you live? I grew up in NW Missouri and live near Wichita now. I drive through NE Kansas somewhat frequently to visit family I've been a Tesla owner for just over 5 years now with 110,000 miles on my Model S. I usually stop at Topeka to get a bit of charge when I'm traveling through that area. I'm a little nervous about the CCS charging network. Have you had any experience with the CCS chargers in Topeka? I'm hoping they are more reliable than some of the other EA stations that I've seen people complaining about on youtube.

I now own 2022 Polstar 2 and 2022, Ford Lightning they are both are CCS, the EA station at Sams club on Wanamaker seems to work fine. I don't need to charge when in Topeka but just wanted to see how they work.
