New here and waiting to place an order (soon hopefully), but trying to figure out what I want exactly before I do. Considering Lariat vs Platinum. I'm also on the fence about the extended battery.

I do plan to level and add wheels+tires, so I will lose range. Given that, would love any thoughts anyone has on if I should pay for the extended range battery or just go Platinum, although the price tag is steep. I'm also not entirely sure the difference between Lariat and Platinum. I've watched a ton of videos and looked on the Ford site numerous times; if I build the Lariat and upgrade a bunch of things it seems like it's almost a platinum but for $20k cheaper (unless I upgrade the battery, then it's $10k cheaper).

I've never seen one in person. LMK your thoughts. Thanks all!

You're really comparing 3 different configurations. Adding the ER battery forces you into the 511A equipment group, which adds the moonroof, active co pilot, tow technology package, among other things. Some of these features can be added on individually, some can't. Sort out which features you want.

I would say go for the Lariat. You will not get massage seats because Ford has taken this feature out due to chip shortages. Why pay $10,000 for this feature if you will not be able to enjoy this.
Plus, I've read & heard that you will lose 20 miles range on the Platinum due to heavier battery on this configuration. Again, this is my opinion. Plus, the on the Platinum - this doesn't include a "Spray bed-line or bed matt." Let us know what you get after all.

That's really good info. I can't believe you can't get a spray in liner, that's a must for me.

Your best bet for a spray-in liner is Line-X. They do a much better job than the factory spray-in.

I have line-x on my current truck and it's lasted 13 years in the sun. I just assumed the factory version would be the same and one less aftermarket thing to do. That's interesting to hear though, maybe I'll just do it afterwards then. I'm going to do wheels + tires + leveling kit anyways.

The fleet sales manager at my dealership definitely recommends Line-X over Ford's spray-in.

If resale/future tradein value is important to you, I recommend you go with the extended range battery. Trucks so equipped already bring a $20k premium over the SR (stunted range?) battery, and as the truck and battery age the larger battery will continue to give better range than the SR.

have an idea what the cost would be for Line-X?
Here was my quote in the DC area back in February. Prices may have changed.

"Hello, thank you for your interest in LINE-X! It’s obvious you want the best protection available for your vehicle and we at LINE-X want to earn your business. Our bed liner prices are (for a standard 5'.5" - 6'.5" bed) - $545.00 under the rail and $ 595.00 for over the rails and (for an 8' bed) - $595.00 under the rail and $ 645.00 for over the rails The process takes about 2 1/2 to 3 hours to complete once we get started on your vehicle. However, the truck bed must be clean with NO Dirt, Mud Tonneau covers, Ladder Racks, Toolboxes, ect. You can wait for it, unfortunately you CAN NOT wait inside the building, and we do not have any covered outside space. We have other products available that can enhance the performance and look of your vehicle. LINE-X PREMIUM (an additional $150.00), – Our most popular bed liner, PREMIUM is a topcoat sprayed on the bed liner that is UV resistant and retains a deep black color and finish. LINE-X PLATINUM (an additional $200.00.) is the strongest and best bed liner, it is also UV resistant and stays wet looking and shiner. Custom colors are an additional $450.00 to $500.00 depending on the requested color match. Also, we need the paint code for any color match. Also we would like to see the truck before scheduling and appointment for color jobs, this helps us to see the color and also verify the paint code. Truck Gear by LINE-X – Our exclusive accessory line, Truck Gear by LINE-X is an expanding collection of accessories, all backed with a Lifetime End-to-End Warranty. We also have access to top-selling truck and SUV accessories, from bumpers and toolboxes to step bars and Jeep parts. All LINE-X bed liners come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty. No matter how you decide to personalize and protect the bed of your truck, LINE-X has the products you need. Also, we NOW offer VALUGARD undercoating and rust proofing. Great additional protection for your truck and cars. Please let me know if you would like to make an appointment. Anything worth protecting, is worth overprotecting. LINE-X IT! Thank you, LINE-X Of laurel 301-317-4737 for Undercoating and Rust proofing, call 301-498-3132."

Can you suggest Line-X Standard -r Line-X Premium. Is it worth spending $150 extra for that UV Protection, if I plan to use a cover 100% time.

Also is the Ford Tonneau cover worth it, or can I have something in the $500-$600 range for a Hard tri-fold cover. Any suggestions please, first time truck owner.

Will never haul stuff except those odd home jobs, or move around any new appliance if I ever buy. Just love the truck as is, and the Frunk is what I use most of the time, be it groceries, be it golfing.

If you have the extra money I’d opt for the ER battery. I did and find the Lariat quite well appointed though I expect the Platinum has some extra whistles and bells. I didn’t opt for the platinum primarily because it had less range (due to its tire and rim package which looks-wise I didn’t care for either, but that’s totally subjective)
