Hello all,

I just wanted to let you know I just noticed the system let me know I received the Ford Power-Up 4.2.1. Apparently this was just an “update for the updater” according to the details:

I just got 4.2.1.... still no backup icon or ability to use the radial dial for other stuff.
Well I believe this one was just an update to the updater - I took delivery of mine on 1/6 and the dealer had applied that update already so I have the radial dial functions for seat heaters etc.

Perhaps now that you have the 4.2.1 they can cleanly push the outstanding updates for your Sync 4.

I did the same thing - had to do a double take!

4.2.1 will update for me tonight. I still don’t have the camera icon nor do I have the expanded knob capability… will I get these with the update?
I think this update just updates the software updater.

What you’re referring to is the actual SYNC 4a software and that was deployed by my dealer back at the beginning of Jan. So no - the update will not change those things with 4.2.1 but it may make it easier and more reliable for them to push the SYNC 5a update to your vehicle.

I received my Lightning in February and it doesn't look like i received it with the latest Sync version.. I had been hoping I would receive an OTA update (just like any other device), but I'm now wondering if I should pester my dealer to do the update. I don't get the sense they know much about EVs.

I got 4.2.1 today, but I’ve still never seen the updated UI on Sync (camera icon, no sliders, etc). Is that weird? Shouldn’t that have come with a prior update?

Updates don't necessarily come in order. It sounds like you received 4.2.1 before the 4.1.x series.

The last update I received before 4.2.1 was 4.1.1.
I'm in the same boat - I got the 4.2.1 update this morning after sitting with the 4.1.1 update for more than a month. Other than the stated 'update process improvements', I still don't have the UI updates. I'm guessing I need 4.2.2 for that? Is that a thing? :)
