This is a great post b/c as a new EV owner and a new Ford owner, I have been reading through this forum and seen so many complaints that I honestly thought long and hard about buying this truck. That said, and fingers crossed, I absolutely love it. I've had little things come up (FCSP gives warnings all night at 80a, turned down to 60a and they all went away), but I realize I'm an early adopter and there's going to be software glitches. If you have that attitude, I would wager you'll love the truck. I sure do. Everything about it is first class IMO. I do have the platinum trim, and I have found every aspect of it to be fantastic. I love the way it drives, I love the interior, the screen is amazing, and all the other features. I charge every few days at home mostly and it's been great.

I did just take it on a road trip and that sorta sucked, but it's not the fault of the truck, it's the network of charging stations IMO. That's for a different post. Overall, I love this thing.

Hopefully not jinxing my so far trouble-free experience

I've had beefs about the cold weather range but my Lightning has been great so far - though if you browse this forum, seems like many Lightnings owners are experiencing major issues

Curious with this Poll to see what's the experience of most owners:
Mine's been perfect so far too, no issues. I've had it 6 months and over 10,000 kms.
Incredible machine. Love it!

Makes sense but you gotta always be careful in a forum like this; there are a few Tesla fans here and their sole purpose is to cause noise & then some legit people with issues - but….it’s a very small number!

02/03/2023. I have an ER Lariat in Alaska. My dealer was sure I was the 4th delivered in the state. 2K miles with coldest days of -12F this season. 90% charge cap with preconditioning set to 15 minutes before I leave for the day with no issues. My truck has never been garaged. Preconditioning cannot be more strongly recommended for winter driving. It allows me to get through my ~60 mile daily commute always using less than 30kw. I’d use even less if I wasn’t coldsoaking at work where all their outlets intended for block heaters trip for faults. In days between 30-40F, I’ve been able to use as little ~21kw on my better days.

Glad you are enjoying it! I'm driving my lightning pro going on 2 months. I've never owned an F150 before this. I have only had an F250 7.3, the mother of all diesels. I've had it for around 15 years and it is (was) the most powerful (torque wise) vehicle I had ever owned. Until I drove the lightning! I never thought I would love another truck the way I loved the 7.3, and I didn't need to replace it, but the body was starting to go, and I happened to find a lightning, so said what the hell, and pulled the trigger. I am so glad I did. It is the most awesome ride ever. I still own the 7.3, and also own a 95 wrangler and an LS swapped 76 Nova, and I haven't touched the keys to ANY of them since taking ownership of the lightning. And I don't get all the hate towards the lightning... The people that bash it have obviously never driven one. And if I had a dollar for every time someone said.. "you are the last person I'd have expected to go electric"...lol I've gone on several long trips with it too, and had no issues with charging or anything. I love it. Ford knocked this one out of the park!

In a purely and very unscientific researching that I’ve done….there seems to be more issues with the Rapid Red (model/version). by scrolling through the FB pages for people with issues there was a large number of Red Lightnings which have had an issue… Mine being one of them

Mine has a module (rear motor something, something) which threw an error, and provided the dreaded, ‘pull over safely‘ message.

She was towed to the dealer, parts ordered, have arrived and am now waiting for the repairs to be complete. ETA early next week 🙁.

glad to see most here have had no issues…

I'm wondering if that's just because red is a more popular color?
