Not a single EV, software, driving, fit, finish, or use problem. Big time F-series problem. Water leaked into cab (turns out from the rear cabin vents) and got the padding under the carpets wet. Everything molded, carpets need to be replaced but on back order for 4 weeks. I'm not sure I'll ever get the smell out. Working with @Ford Motor Company but there seem to be no good solutions. Even replacing the truck doesn't make sense - I've got a 2022 with heated steering, bed scales, all the goodies now deleted and there is a production halt. Very, very disappointing.

How did the water get in? vents? I would like to know if you know where these vents are so I can make sure that does not happen.

As mentioned in the post, rear cabin vents. These are low in the back of the cabin behind the seats and jack, etc. If you look around on the internet, this is definitely an issue on F series trucks in general. Very hard to get to on the Lightning - you have to loosen the bed and slide it back 6 inches to replace them. This was covered by Ford, but the mold issue is not yet sorted out.

None! My only “negative” experience was a trim panel on the drivers side rear “grille” that did not have fasteners and was loose - that’s it. No problems charging, driving, fast charging. The truck so far is amazing.

I think the built in navigation needs a little fine tuning and looking forward to the BlueCruise 1,2 update, but other than that I love this truck.

Also, Lariat ER. I took deliver on 10/14/22 and I have 14,425 miles and counting. Love this truck. My second EV. Still have the Tesla Model 3. Ford has some catching up to do regarding UI in the vehicle and the app, but I am very pleased and definitely getting better at parking. I’ve learned that its easier to park by backing in.

Lariat ER, 12/31/2022, just hit 3000 miles. I've had a MIL "wrench" popup three times with corresponding message on FordPass app for "powertrain malfunction/reduced power" along with a service vehicle soon notice. It cleared itself on the next startup every time. Have not taken it to the dealer to investigate. There was no discernable change in the vehicle performance while the MIL was illuminated.

FCSP has been working great on 100A dedicated circuit, reliably recharging from 20% to 80% in 4 hours. I've been slowly installing the backup subpanel, inverter, MID, and hope to have the full system for automatic home backup up and running in the next few days.

Had two occasions to use Electrify America DC fast chargers with the Plug & Charge feature through FordPass and it worked seamlessly. Both locations were 350kW rated chargers and my Lightning charged at ~120kW so I was able to get all the charge I needed in 30 minutes. One of the stops was at the Sheetz in Bedford PA and there were three Lightnings charging out of the four available stalls!

I had an ICE F-150 EcoBoost (that was perfectly comfortable/reliable/fun) before the Lightning and would not trade back. Very happy so far and expecting it will only get better as warmer weather returns, more chargers are available, and OTA updates continue.

I spoke too soon, turned on the truck this morning and had a “Powertrain Malfunction/Power Reduction” alert come on and advised to call the dealer. Power was reduced significantly. I had places to be and the service department couldn’t see me until Monday. I disconnected the 12v and pushed on the brake to drain all the power and when I put the 12v battery back on and started the truck the alert was gone. I’m still bringing it in but now I also keep a 10mm in my glovebox in case it happens again. Temperature has been sporadic between 30s up to 50s daily and also charged to 90% last night and left it plugged in until this morning. Battery is also a SR.

Ok - while I am not having issues with the truck - I am finding the Ford ChargeStation Pro drops off the Wi-Fi network for no apparent reason and the only way to get it back on is to power cycle it at the breaker. This has no impact on the truck but it will stop collecting how many Kw you are using to charge (but that can be seen in the FordPass app separately.

I hate that charger mainly for the app not the charger, so glad I only use this at my shop for holy crap I'm not going to make it home stop. I lov my changepoint that does my daily home charging just such a well designed unit and app is decent and 100 percent reliable.

Had Mine since June 2022. Put about 8,000 miles on it. I would not normally buy the version 1.0 of anything but Ford seems to have done a great job. Occasional issue with CarPlay playing music over my calls but I hear that same issue from Friends with other vehicles. Hopefully an over the air update will correct this issue. This is my third Ford 150 and by far the best! Overall Very happy with my truck!

Hopefully not jinxing my so far trouble-free experience

I've had beefs about the cold weather range but my Lightning has been great so far - though if you browse this forum, seems like many Lightnings owners are experiencing major issues

Curious with this Poll to see what's the experience of most owners:
Thanks for starting this thread. I live in Truckee, California where we've had close to 600" of snow this winter (close to a record). I've driven in snow most of my long life. Thanks to the weight and placement of the two (extended range) batteries, my Lariat is the best handling AWD / 4WD vehicle in snow and ice I've ever owned. It's just solid and almost effortless in most all winter conditions. The decreased range in this weather is nothing to complain about and is to be expected. The only issue I've experienced is the Active Air Dam System Fault message I received on a trip to Park City, UT from Truckee. I assume the long distance driving in cold, snowy conditions contributed to that. It hasn't happened since I returned three weeks ago and it didn't cause any performance issues to my knowledge. That's it.

Hey, WTF, I thought I bought an EV, why is this thing harder to park at the grocery store than a coal train?

just kidding, thats obviously my personal problem going from 16yrs of Prius driving to this beast. I used to drive full sized pick-ups at work and could never get the hang of parking-lot parking, and this one reminds me of that.
Other than learning how to drive and park my first truck :), since, 11/25/2022, 4000 miles, no issues. FordPass app needs (a lot of) work. @Ford Motor Company, would be happy to consult on UI/UX.

Thanks for starting the poll. Like most forums, those with negative (and often unrealistic expectations) seem to rule the roost for online postings. I own a Lariat ER with about 4000 miles on the odometer so far. I've experienced a few software issue with the Ford Sync system, but nothing I did not expect with an early production model. Each software update seems to make a noticeable improvement to the user interface. One exception to that positive progression is the range estimation feature in cold weather. The feature was fairly accurate until a mid-winter update, which evidently removed all climatic adjustments. Other than the expected range reduction, winter driving in Maine has been a great experience with excellent traction and the wonderful benefits of one pedal driving. I still find the onboard Pro-Power system to the overly clunky, but once you get used to all the quirks the feature is a game changer for the outdoor work I engage in.

This is my 10th F-150 in my 65 years and the best F-150 ever. No major issues, one software update took weeks to get in place as it was for the GOM. The forum helped me figuring out I had to manually updating it while charging, it uploaded and then had to re-start the truck once to get everything rebooted. The cold weather here in Rhode Island did drop my range by about 15% but not an issue. I have run the battery down to 5% and it stayed on 5% for over 40 miles, as many say the GOM is based on many factors. I use a 40 amp 240v charger at the house 95% of the time and no issues, charges up in 4 to 6 hours depending on battery level.
For those who are still waiting be very excited this is the most powerful and capable truck I have ever owned. Handling in the snow, rain or mud is great. Towing my 9000 lb boat is like towing a 1500 lb boat no difference. Very quite operation and can't show it off enough. I have also used the truck to power weekend events for our Amateur Radio field operations, no more noisy generators. Fords did a great job building this new wave of EV vehicles, proud to be one of the first to get one, also got my $7500 rebate already.

My XLT lightning was delivered last August with a standard battery setup, I like the smaller screen as I still like knobs.
I do appreciate all the posts on the forum as good to see some of the fellow engineers out there giving facts and experiences.

Enjoy your lightning, I am.
