If you have the Ford Charge Station Pro, the literature states that it is a compatible J1772 connector, however it is actually a CCS1 connector. So the J1772 adapter to Tesla will not work as it will not fit the CCS1 connector.

It's very odd that ford does not mention the CCS1 connector.
Interesting… I went and looked at mine in the box (it isn’t installed yet because I made the colossal mistake of choosing Sunrun to install it) and sure enough, it CCS1. Sorry for earlier posted ignorance.

I am purchasing another J1772 adapter to Tesla. I will trim to fit the CCS1 and will let you know if it works. The adapter below is certified for 80 amps which is exactly what I need!

Does not work as the bottom of the CCS1 connector interferes with the Tesla port, and will not seat properly.

Hi Everyone, need to jump in on this...So I have my Lightning (it's great btw) and the Ford Charger Pro installed. All is working well in that regard. My wife has an Audi Q5e (plug in hybrid) and it has a J1772 plug. I have read as much as I can about charging a non-Ford car with the Ford Pro charger (there's not much on it). But the Ford site does say it can charge other EV's, but it stops short of mentioning anything else, or how to make this work. I have phoned Ford and spoken to several different cust agents, and as soon as I mention a non-ford vehicle, they instantly say I can't give you any advice as we are not able to provide info for other EVs. Fair enough, whatever. So here's what I've done so far, and what is happening. I have purchased an aftermarket J1772 extension cord. I shaved off the bottom nub so it allows the CCS Ford charger plug to attached properly (The DC plugs at the bottom of the male CCS plug just overhand the female J1772. This modification scared me a bit, but I phyiscally confirmed the DC terminals inside the charger were not connected to anything). At this point, I'm able to now plug the J1772 extension cord into the Audi plug. This is where things stop working...the Ford charger recognizes that it's plugged into an EV, but it quickly disconnects or stops charging and flashes a fault. In about 2 seconds, it tries again, and then faults out. It continues to cycle through like this again and agian, until I unplug the Audi. I don't know if the Audi is the problem or if the charger is the problem. I went as far as to down-rate the charger to 32A (the audi charger goes at 40A) so I know the charger isn't trying to push too much power. Now I also read that in the FordPass app, that you need to grant 'access' to other EV's, although I'm not able to find this in the FordPass app on my phone. One of the Ford cust agents said that I needed to add another Ford EV to the app, and then I would be able to grant access to charge that car, but again, as soon as I said I was wanting to grant access for a non-Ford EV, they stopped talking. So I'm at a loss frankly. I'm wondering if anyone else has tried this and had success charging a non-ford EV. (I realize there's a lot of talk about Tesla's, I happen to have an Audi). If I can give any advice or warning, if you're thinking of trying to get a Ford EV and Ford pro charger, and want to charge another non-Ford EV, think twice about the Ford charger, and maybe go with another aftermarket charger! Cheers and thanks for reading this...

Back to the original thread: I don’t have access to the settings shown on the 3rd pic below on my app (got that from a Mach 3 forum) but I think you have to enable “station sharing” to charge other vehicles, that’s what I’m guessing. I think you’re in Canada too, so it may be possible that the app hasn’t been updated for us, and I’m pretty sure we are still on an old OTA update (I’m on 3.5.4 with auto updates on) for the vehicle itself versus the US. Hopefully Ford will update the firmware and app

If the stars align and the vehicles live together and charge close to each other, you could use the FCSP for the Lightning and use the Ford Mobile 30A plugged into Ford Pro Power Onboard to charge the Audi. :sneaky:

You are correct, I am in Canada, and my app does not show this 'station sharing' toggle! I have app version '4.23.0 CAN'.

Haha, I thought of this, but I am trying to eliminate using two chargers. I'd prefer to simply use the Ford charger on both vehicles.

I wanted to post an update to this...I had my neighbour bring his Nissan Leaf over and we plugged the Ford Charger into it, and it worked! So my issue isn't with the Ford Charger, there's something up with my Audi.

Basically tried the same to try to charge a Tesla model Y, ccs1 to Tesla adapter no joy, cut the tab off my J1772 to Tesla adapter to fit on the Ford plug but it tried to charge but the wall unit seemed to cut off so figured it didn’t want to share, couldn’t find the share provision in the Ford apps (Canada).

My ford charge station pro didn’t work to charge my model x using the CCS adapter. I also have not been able to use it to charge a ford veichle yet either(lightning didn’t arrive yet).

I admire the efforts, but that adaptor is for DC charging, so not understanding why folks are trying it for AC charging? Am I missing something?

Did you have to do anything in the App or settings to permit it to charge the Leaf or did it just start charging automatically? Trying to figure out if I can use my Charge Stn Pro to charge a Toyota Hybrid plug-in (Lexus hybrid)

This may be an old thread but is anyone actually charging another BEV with their Ford Charge Station Pro? And, if you get rid of your Lightning could it still be used to charge non-Ford products (not necessarily Teslas, they’re fugly) or is it just a brick at that point (many users seem to be experiencing difficulties just getting it paired with the Lightning and Ford My Pass App).

I was a big fan of Von Holzhausen's work even before he went to Tesla. Clean and sexy. If you can walk away from your car and not look back at it in the parking lot every time you leave it you may have bought the wrong car. Yeah, I look back at it every time lol.

As for the charge station question, in theory it should charge anything with a ccs1 port. Unfortunately, it has turned out to be a pretty flaky unit so whether it does or not in reality will be probably be hit and miss.
