You might be able to buy a J-1772 to Tesla adapter and carve away the plastic that prevents it from coupling with the CCS on the Charge Station Pro. Tom Moloughney suggests this in one of his videos. I don't know of anyone who has tried it yet.
You might be able to buy a J-1772 to Tesla adapter and carve away the plastic that prevents it from coupling with the CCS on the Charge Station Pro. Tom Moloughney suggests this in one of his videos. I don't know of anyone who has tried it yet.I have a Charge Station Pro on the way to be installed soon. I have a Tesla Model 3 that I want to charge with my charger, but so far it looks like there's no direct path from the Ford (CCS) to Tesla (J1772). Some quick research has found some suuuuper expensive adapters - Almost more expensive than just getting a second charger installed! I was wondering if anybody is charging non-Fords with their Charge Stations and if so, how?
You would need to use a J-1772 to Tesla adapter and cut some plastic to make it fit on the CCS.Still looking for a way to charge my Tesla with the FCSP. I contacted Ford and they don't have an answer for me for an adapter. I'm curious if the current available CCS-tesla adapters (or to J1772) work, as all advertise for L3 charging. Has anyone been successful?
That one is for going from a Tesla destination charger to a J-1772 equipped vehicle like the Lighting. In fact, the best one for the Lightning is this one:For the Lightning, use this one:
Did you have to customize the Tesla adapter?Great news. It works on first connection now on 2023 Telsa Model Y with latest update in March 2023. I don't have an F150 lightning. I bought a Charge Station Pro in Dec. 2022 anticipating a Lyriq with 19.2kW charging. But, i fell into the Tesla January trap and bought a 2023 Model Y (which I do love). I would always have to plug and unplug 3 to 5 times for the Tesla to start charging. This was annoying for scheduled middle of the night charging. Fast forward to mid March. After latest Tesla update, the Model Y now starts charging immediately. And the charger does NOT click several times to negotiate with the Tesla. On all 5 ocassions that I've connected the charger since that upgrade, there is no more plugging and unplugging! I'm stoked!
