Hi all thx for adding me to the forum. I’m waiting to have my 2022 Lightning XLT order filled but this week my dealer in Canada said it will now have to be filled with a 2023 and cost an additional $15k Cdn. Why is the 2022 price protection only being offered in the US?

Not so far…some dealers have been calling and saying 2023 orders will have to cough up the additional amount, even if you had already placed but not delivered.

2023s, from what I heard:
XLT-$80k
Lariat-$90k

and Platinum ???-$110k I don’t recall the exact number

Attention 2022 Lightning order holders in Canada - we are being screwed. Unlike Ford US, Ford Canada is not offering any price protection for its 2022 Lightning orders that it cannot deliver and are being filled with 2023’s. Without price protection my XLT will cost an additional $15k Cdn! Totally unfair and maybe illegal under our NAFTA Auto Pact? Here is some info about Ford’s ‘fairness’ program in the US:

NAFTA doesn’t exist anymore - USMCA doesn’t offer the same level of protection
