Not that I care, but why can't someone make and adapter from CSS to tesla? You'd think you can just not put any conducting stuff on the DC part, but have it so it fits over the entire thing.
Ya I was hoping to be able to charge our RAV4 prime with this too. As you mentioned, looks like I’m setting up another charger. No ccs on that guy.

A 3rd party and Tesla-Korea have released CCS to Tesla (charge a Tesla off CCS). There are Tesla to J-1772 (L2 charging) on the market as well. Can't do Tesla Supercharger to CCS because the Supercharger communicates with the car like Plus & Charge. Tesla then charges the vehicle for free or bills their account depending on the purchase arrangement. If you have a non-Tesla, they can't talk and no charging will happen.

I would not need it, but bet many would. You should post the link to buy that.

I'm thinking the opposite. Charge tesla with Ford pro station.
Teslas used to come with a J-1772 to Tesla adapter. They may come with them still. That makes charging a Tesla off the Ford Pro Charger a snap.

The J1772 adapter is still included, but as noted by @THEsocalledfan there are some issues with it fitting on the Pro Station. It will be interesting to know if this was some sort of oversight or intentional. There is another thread discussing similar I think. It would be a simple plastic modification to get the adapter to fit. You would have to make sure and adjust the amps down to charge some other cars if you are running the Pro at 80.

Some good information from the state of charge YouTube channel on the intelligent backup power. They also calmed some of my concerns about connecting up the charge station pro and service requirements. Maybe it is useful to some of you.

Here are the cliff notes from the video (answers are Tom's from video, not mine). Video length 37:41.

Chapters:
0:00 Intro
2:29 Does Intelligent Backup Power require a 320-amp electric service?
No. Website has dropped mention of the 320-amp service and now only says dedicated 100A electrical circuit.

5:50 Does Ford Charge Station Pro require a 100-amp circuit?
No, you can reduce the power output down to what you have available, as low as 20A. However, 100A circuit is needed to charge at full 80A speed.

7:40 If you reduce the power output of the Ford Charge Station Pro, can you still use Intelligent Backup Power at the full rate?
Yes. You can still use 9.6kW power to your home even if you reduced power on the charging side.

8:20 How long is the cable on Ford Charge Station Pro?
25' cable (longest allowed by NEC code). Probably want charging port less than 20'.

9:34 Is Ford Charge Station Pro a DC fast charger?
No, it is a 80A, 240V AC charger. However, it does use a CCS connector. It uses the J-1772 pins for charging. DC pins are used for intelligent power to the house. The truck delivers DC power, up to 9.6kW, to the Ford Charge Station Pro to charge the house.

12:23 Can you charge a Tesla vehicle with Ford Charge Station Pro?
No. The J-1772 to Tesla adapter won't fit the CCS connector on the Ford Charge Station Pro. The pins should work but the plastic on the connector won't fit.

14:52 Can your solar array power your house with Ford Charge Station Pro on?
Technically, yes. Realistically, maybe. The SunRun system should integrate just fine. Other companies' hardware may not work. An electrical professional will to do this.

16:42 Can your solar array charge the Ford F-150 Lightning while Intelligent Backup Power is running?
Not currently. Ford is looking into this.

17:29 What equipment do you need to use Ford Intelligent Backup Power?
The dealership will have to activate Intelligent Backup Power on the vehicle.
Need Home Integration System: Includes transfer switch, inverter, and Dark Star battery (needed to power Home Integration System until Intelligent Backup Power is activated). Tom guesses later this is $3-5K.

19:10 Are you required to use Sunrun to install Ford Intelligent Backup Power?
No. You can buy the Home Integration System from Sunrun to install it yourself or have another installer do it. However, Ford highly recommends Sunrun to install it.

20:40 Is there any version of the F-150 Lightning that cannot use Ford Intelligent Backup Power?
No. However, you have to buy the 80A Ford Charge Station Pro (other companies charge over $2K for 80A chargers). Ford hasn't released a price yet; Tom guesses over $2,500. You have to then pay to have dealer activate Intelligent Backup Power (cost unknown). Then you need Home Integration System.

24:00 Will using Ford Intelligent Backup Power frequently affect my battery warranty?
No. You can use it as much as you want -- at least for now.

26:30 Will Ford Intelligent Backup Power turn on automatically?
You can choose manual or automatic activation. Automatic activation will occur in under a minute.

28:34 Can you limit how low the battery state of charge goes while using Intelligent Backup Power?
Yes. You set it as a mileage limit so you can drive to work or a charger. You can change the limit on the app. If you want you can set it to drain all the way down to the built-in reserve.

31:47 How long can Ford Intelligent Backup Power power your home?
It depends on how much your house draws. The 3-day estimate is based on average home use of 30kWh per day.

See the video. The DC part below the j1772 prevents that on the pro station.
Good catch. I just watched the video and Tom makes the problem clear.

He doesn't address whether the expensive CCS to Tesla adapters would work.

I don’t think this really answers the question about how big a service is required. The IBP requires a 100A service back to the main panel but that doesn’t mean you don’t have additional service panel requirements. If the IBP is grid interactive (can supply power when connected to the grid) then the 120% rule applies and you’ll need a 320A service or you will need to derate your 200A main breaker. If it is not grid interactive and can only supply power after the ATS disconnects the main panel from the grid, then you can use the 100A dedicated line without worrying about your service size. The home integration kit includes a dark start battery and ATS, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the IBP isn’t grid interactive. We won’t really know until we see installation guides or someone at SunRun explains the requirements.

I'm expect that the the transfer switch will separate the box from the grid so there is no interactivity. That should be what the ATS does (powered by the Dark Star battery). Once isolated, the truck can begin to feed DC back to the Ford Charge Station Pro, to the inverter, and to the box. Once the power is no longer needed, the ATS should cut the incoming DC at the Ford Charge Station Pro, then reconnect the box to the grid.

I concur, though
