I'm sure this has been covered.... (PRO vs XLT 311A)

Since I got skipped over on the last batch of orders at the start of the year I've put some more thought into it and kept swaying on either not ordering a Lightning at all, or just ordering the Pro and living with it.

The price difference between the PRO and XLT just doesn't seem to make much sense to me in a value aspect, has there been a detailed break down on the exact differences in the interior between the two?

Or is it $13k for carpet, a leather wrapped wheel, non heated cloth seats, rear defrost and body colored bumpers? I feel the wheel and carpet can be replaced for about $1k, and maybe do a Katzkin swap on the seats for what, $1k-$2k?

Or am I completely off-base here and should seek a therapist? :D

You are seeing 100 years of Ford marketing expertise with the MSRP’s. They know their buyers and have this area down to a science.

Ford knows the average family is not going to consider the $40k Pro as the family truckster because of its “strippo” nature. That leaves families going at least one trim level up to the $54k XLT. Yes, that’s another $14k please.

Oh, your family demands leather seating? Now your spending another $13k to get into a $67k base model Lariat model with the SR battery pack.

You want a 2023 because all 15k 2022’s are spoken for? That will most likely be another $2k - $5k.

Yes, Ford is making a profit on every Pro that it sells thanks to using virtually the same aluminum body as the ICE F150. This came straight from a Ford executive.
