You might be able to temporarily get away with a NEMA 1450 extension cord into your 220 that your Ford Mobile Charger could plug into but may want to keep an eye on the outlet since dryer plugs are not typically designed for heavy load over several hours and it could get hot. I would consult a local electrician - never want to risk a fire.

Is your meter in a convenient location to drop a 14-50 plug out of the bottom for this purpose?

Do you know where your outlet will be once garage is built? If so you may be able to go ahead and run the line from meter to edge of house and temporarily put a 14-50 on the end with spare line coiled in attic/basement/under house until you are able to permanently install.

It will be best to install a hard-wired EVSE if you will have an outside installation. My truck lives outside in MD and our EVSE is hard-wired in our carport.

I encourage you to watch this video before you start work:

As a new EV owner, you might also want to learn the basics about charging your Lightning:

If possible, plug in every night during the winter.
