Did you get to order?

Like many on here I was not lucky enough to order yesterday but I am disappointed. I can almost guarantee my dealer prioritized either a friend or employee. I could be wrong but there is no transparency around this and I’m disappointed because I may not make the cut. I’m upset because I wish Ford had a better ordering system in place. Prioritizing plat, lariat, xlt orders similar to Tesla prioritizing performance model.

I contacted ford and they said “ford” sent out the emails but dealers had a priority list. Doesn’t seem like I was able to get a clear answer how this system works and as to what number am I?

I ordered before they announced the orders were live because I was refreshing the page as the people were presenting.

Don't despair yet. The first "wave" only resulted in about 1 order per dealer. I think they were testing the system. Ford has been clear about having subsequent waves every 2 weeks or so until the 2022's are gone. There will be more invites coming.
Yeah you are right, I am very optimistic about it since they upped the total units to 150k which is close to the total amount of orders but I was still disappointed. I know I will get over it but I can't help but feel in the dark about the ordering system, I just needed to vent. I know years from now I will laugh about this cause I am sure I will be able to get a truck eventually.

Pretty sure 150k is a 2024 estimated number NOT 2022.

You shouldn't have had to keep refreshing the page. As soon as the video started, I was able to reserve mine. The time stamp on mine was 3 minutes after the video started.

Like many others I didn't get a first wave invite but I wasn't expecting to. What I didn't expect was an XLT with extended battery being 74+ thousand dollars. I canceled my reservation unfortunately. I was excited for the Lightning's inception to the EV market, but at least for now, it's a rich man's game. A pro lightning without extended battery isn't practical for me and compared to my current F150, would be quite a downgrade options wise. Ultimately, I can't justify a mid range package truck with a payment that rivals my mortgage.

Are you looking at any other EV trucks @JPtheGull? Or are you going to wait for prices to drop?

I’m gonna order as soon I get the chance, I have a rivian, and cybertruck on order as well. I am just waiting for whoever delivers first. I always felt like ford would deliver first because it’s really similar to a regular f150.

If you didn't get, and weren't expecting, a first wave invite, then maybe you would've been more likely to get a 2023 MY build? If that's the case, you might've ended up with something that you wanted (e.g., an extended-range XLT for way less than $74k). I wouldn't be surprised if Ford eventually makes that available in future MYs, especially as production ramps up and average cost to produce goes down.

Don’t expect prices to drop, they are likely to increase with this kind of sustained demand. There’s no way the CT will be launched with the same price tag it was advertised - also keep in mind, the CT delivery has been postpone indefinitely - all timeframes indicating 2022 have been removed from their website.

Yeah, a $100 refundable deposit on a $50K dual motor was almost a no brainer thing in 2019. Fast forward to 2022, the RWD and trimotor have been dropped from the lineup, the base version is the dual motor, and there's no way that's coming out at it's reveal price. The dual motor Y is already mid 50s no options.

That's what I'm hoping for in the future.
