Arrived Monday/Tuesday last week to rail yard somewhere in Dallas, need it to get to the dealer so I can pick it up! So silly they can't track beyond getting to this step...

It seems this can vary by dealer, because I've seen some states/dealers seem to know nothing about when the trucks will get from the rail yard to the dealer.

However - I believe most every dealer around DFW it seems do their own pick up from the rail yard. Mine did. Unloaded from the rail car on a Wednesday, picked up by the dealer on Thursday. So, if you've tracked to the rail yard in Mesquite it's time to start bugging your dealer - they know.

I actually don't know which rail yard if there's more than one, that's just what they told me. They said they definitely know it's at the rail, but they have to wait for the truck side, which they have no control over supposedly? This dealer is about an hour outside of DFW though.

your truck is at the mercy of the transport company, not your dealer - yes, some dealers may have some type of 'customer/dealer pickup' at the yard, but that's very rare. Transport companies simply hire drivers to load their trailer and take the vehicles to the assigned dealer, but sometimes waiting on a 'full load' can hinder/slow the process - most drivers don't want to drive a 'less than full load' since they get paid on the number of vehicles they are handling, and some don't want to do 'multiple dealer drops' of less-than-full-loads, for obvious reasons. You can call the transport company that handles the local rail yard, as their is probably on a single company that handles the transport, at least for FORD.

They can track it using OVISS if the rail terminal is served by United Road. The minimum you can learn is the ramp where the truck is parked. The truck's VIN is loaded into the UR logistics system by Ford.
