So Im so glad to be on here with fellow enthusiasts and like minded future Lightning owners. Like alot of yall this will be my first EV and not my first F150.
I currently drive my old 1996 F150 XLT and she is a reliable beast. But she has gotten up there in years and over 250k miles so its time to give her some rest. I currently work as a delivery driver for a national pizza chain and put an average of 200 miles on day on the truck but it is killing me on gas.

Had decided about a year ago to make the transition to an EV but was reluctant to lose the versatility of my truck for either a Tesla or one of the other upcoming EV models. The debut of the Cybertruck had me excited until I saw that monstrosity, heck naw. Was about to pull the trigger and start the ordering process with Tesla for a Model 3 when I heard about the Lightning and was pumped to see a vehicle that looked amazing and had the feel of something old and familiar while also being new and full of potential.

Needless to say I reserved one and have been telling my wife all about the features, EV credits and the bills currently in the House, etc to the point she is tired of me talking about it. On the plus side she is excited for me since we will be saving money and since our kids are getting bigger it will be nice to have the added room of a Super Crew over the little bench in the back of my current XLT. We have taken the step of adding solar panels to the house in order to further save money on keeping the Lightning rolling.

Glad to be here and cant wait to see more info from everyone once we get to start ordering on Oct. 26th.

Welcome to the forum @MacMerritt :)
Have you started looking into what home charging setup to get? Are there enough public chargers near you?
Going to go with the upgraded battery so I should be getting the Pro Charger that comes with it. Have plans to have an electrician scheduled for the same day as delivery, whenever that ends up being.

As for local charges there are 3 free ones at the local community college a mile from my work. The EV infrastructure around me isnt great at the moment but I mostly plan on using my vehicle for work and local errands. So the 300 mile range should be sufficient.

Yeah looked at the Rivians and Lordstown. Hummer was wayyyy put of my league. Rivian was the only other one that caught my eye though.
