Hey everyone!

I thought I heard someone say you can transfer reservations but I'm not sure how. I found out my dealer will be charging between 5-10K over MSRP when I can go an hour down the road and pay sticker. The place I want to transfer from says I have to cancel my reservation and just make a new one. The new place gave me Ford's customer service number and said to call them and try that. Anyone have any info?

Thanks!

From my reservation page on ford.com:

"You can change your dealer or cancel your reservation at any time. To change your dealer, please call 1-800-334-4375. If you choose to cancel your reservation, your deposit will be credited back to you in your original form of payment"

This is good information, appreciate the phone number. I'm still a little confused how this will work in practice, especially after the order book opens and what "place in line" really means. :
1) I understand dealers get an 'allocation' of a certain number of vehicles. Does fulfillment of reservations come out of that allocation or are reservation deliveries handled separately?
2) I assume it's ideal to get some sort of agreement from a dealer on ADM/no-ADM before the order book opens and to move to the reservation to another dealer to try to avoid ADM.
3) What should I expect to happen if the order book opens and the dealer springs one of those 'commit to ADM to order' messages, and I then move my reservation. Will that likely result in delayed deliver regardless of 'place in line'?

Thanks.

1. Probably out of the allocations. Hence some dealerships will only have enough for people who are not early deposit holders. And early people will wait. Again, not 100% sure, but some dealerships will be good to early people and some will not.
2. Yes. Again, it should help, but who knows what the dealer will end up doing. Still having it in writing (even just an email) will give you some small amount of hope. :)
3. Again, Probably. None of us really know, which kinda sucks.

It will be a few weeks and we should know who is getting theirs available to order. Then we get to see if there are many honoring MRSP and who is trying to make some quick bucks.

All this is just my humble opinion.

I'm slightly lucky as I have a Rivian and a Lightning reservation. So I will happy get the one that ships the soonest. And Rivian has no dealers to charge over MSRP.

Thanks, I figured there was no clear cut answer. I'm actually happy to wait a bit and let Ford figure out what isn't working with the initial batch of deliveries. My 2011 F150 Ecoboost is running strong. I basically told my dealer that I won't be paying ADM so if they are going to charge it, I'm out and taking future business with me. I've bought a Mustang GT, Focus ST and the current F150 from this same dealer over the past 10 years to add some credibility.
