I have an EV6 First Edition that is sitting at the Kia dealership while they try to sort out financing on it. I came very close to telling them they could cut me a check for $5K to walk away from it.$1000, $5000, $10,000? The Dealer can then have it on their lot and mark it up for another $5000 or so? I wonder if we will see this happening?
Generally yes, but it's not binding. Try to get them to sign it so you have a better case should they play games at delivery.So.. Will a dealer write up a complete bill of sale at the time of order? Showing deposit fees taxes plates and all that stuff?
When you place the order, the price is confirmed at that time. There's been all this talk about dealers jacking up pricing for pre-order holders, but I think that's mostly nonsense. There may have been 2 or 3 examples out of 200,000. Many that have actually placed real orders have come back and said that it was priced at MSRP.Reminder to the new folks around here:
When you finally get your invite, do not place your order until you know if you dealer will sell at MSRP. Once you place the order, you are at their mercy. However, you hold all the cards until then. If they won't sell at MSRP, call Ford and move your reservation to a dealer that will, then place your order.
I like that. When you place the order, the price is confirmed at that time. There's been all this talk about dealers jacking up pricing for pre-order holders, but I think that's mostly nonsense. The only mark ups will likely be on any that the dealer may have reserved for themselves, thus will become part of their inventory rather than being built for a specific customer. In this case, the dealer would be the customer and with those, they're free to do what they want with them. I would assume those would see Dealer Mark Ups. Sounds like most dealers are not trying to screw over actual pre-order customers. The dealers have to accept your order when you place it. Naturally, they have the option to not accept such orders if they don't want to sell them. Dealers have their way of getting their own for their own inventory. They'll do that, while also selling pre-orders vehicles.
