Got home at 2% (2.62 kWhs) which, yes Truck, is five city miles, but 1.5 hwy miles at 75 mph.

Is there way to show kWhs left in the battery?

Knowing the roads I am going to drive on, I think I can calculate the range better than the truck's computer, which averages your last few few minutes of driving.

Driving 90 miles home, I had plenty range - about 123 miles. <40 degrees, cruise set on 75, climate control on, I notice that with 13 miles to go, the truck warned of 12 miles left. Uh-oh.

I decided I will not give in range anxiety! Dropped speed to 55 and drove right by a supercharger. Then came a warning: "Nearest Charger is outside of your range. Plan to find a power outlet where you can charge."

Seems a little late.

@Ford Motor Company Maybe make this warning to say "The last charger before your stuck on the side of road is..."

Would be a huge improvement to show kWh or at least % charge rather than range. Or at least be able to choose which of the three.

...or, two out of three. :) Why not display kWh remaining and current or ~5 min or ~30 min efficiency in mi/kWh side-by-side? They could easily replace that big fat anxiety inducing Range Guess. My 2013 ICE Fusion had a nice screen that displayed similar efficiency/consumption information with selectable lookbacks.

My guess is they won't want to display kWh due to battery drift, but who knows

% charge requires both math and an assumption. @Ford Motor Company, just do the math for me.

28%x131= well sh!t.

And does my battery still hold 131 kWh hours. Probably not.

starting charging at 27%, put in 60kWh to reach ##%, so charge remaining plus charge added, now equals... well Sh!t.

You think 2.62 kWh is 1.5 highway miles at 75? Some quick math says this is 75 miles of range at your supposed 75mph with 100% battery. Ummmmm, I know that's not the point of your thread but let's not exaggerate, hmm? You'd need to be towing something huge and uphill to get <.6 m/kWh to achieve that efficiency.

You're right. "Simple math" and m/kWh vs kWh/m messed me up.

Shoot! Maybe I can't do it better than the computer. I get between 1.7 and 1.9 m/kwh @ 75 mph Blue Cruise HWY.

After slowing to 55, it only took a few miles for the computer to show I could get home. Then driving the last 8.6 miles (4.6 Hwy the 4 stop light filled miles) allowed me to go 8.6 miles using only 4 miles of range.

I have never claimed to be smarter than a 5th grader! 🤠

I got home yesterday on 1%. I figured I was OK because I was only an eighth of a mile minus from the house. I had to hit about three traffic lights on the way to the house, When light went green stepped on the pedal, but notice I didn’t get that jolt of speed that usually pushes me back in my seat! In fact, it felt like the vehicle was slowing down! Kind of like with a IDE vehicle is extremely low on fuel and you step on the accelerator and you get a little bit of speed, but it slows down because there’s not enough fuel to reach the injectors. Made it to the house OK, but that strange slow down did make me a little nervous!

Was that a safety feature or was I truly almost out of battery?
