So I bought my Lightning Lariat ER 'second hand' from the dealer, who said they'd get me the Charge Station Pro if I was entitled to one, but they didn't know anything about it. I was wondering: is there a form through SunRun that I have to fill out to get it shipped, or did it happen automatically? Last I spoke to them, the salesman didn't know anything about it, so I was wondering if I/they were supposed to tell SunRun in some way.

The only thing I see on their website is a form to get them to install it, but nothing about getting it in the first place!

Thanks!

I might get hung up in the couple week long process of validating who the first buyer was, given the quick flip of this truck it could get to the wrong person. (first owner)

There is a form that the dealer submits to Ford to get the FCSP shipped. Since you bought from the dealer, it will probably be shipped to the address associated with the order.

Is this a FORD sales man or a third party used car lot?
Through the original dealer. It was a 'customer didn't buy', so they sold it to themselves, then on to me.

A dealer in Washington State that listed it in a few places. I paid... a lot. If you want to buy one without reservation, be prepared for 40% markups.

Before I left with the truck, since I was the first with a truck to get that charger, they forgot to have me sign a form - I did before I left (just didn't do it with the other papers). A couple of days later (Sat to Tues?) I got an email from SunRun with a link to verify my order number (the one on your Ford.com account), address and name.

I don't recall it giving me a time line on delivery.

Something about those words that make it very hard to understand from DMV rules on this side of the country. They sold it and titled it to themselves to extract the EV tax credit? Or, this means customer didn't buy the ordered vehicle upon arrival at the dealer, so the delaer sold it as a vehicle new from the lot (the 'to' in your post is a typo)? Either way, they owe you a Ford Charge Station Pro, unless Behind Door #3 – it was sold and titled to another customer.

My understanding is that the original customer opted to not buy it. Ford will only allow them at that point to sell it at MSRP (at least by their understanding?), so they 'bought' it at MSRP themselves. At that point, the dealer was the 'owner' of the truck, drove it around ~100 miles on a trip permit, then sold it to me as 'used' for a significant markup.

But yeah, I think I need them to fill out SOME form to get me the charger. Its not a huge rush (I have a Grizzl-E for my wife's car that works perfect for charging the Lightning), but I was thinking it might be nice to replace that Grizzl-E with the CSP to get some of the wifi-enabled-features out of it.

Next time you're at that dealer, keep an eye out for your Charge Station Pro installed somewhere. Dealer stories like this will be around for as long as dealers will be around. You might want to press your request with them as soon as you can. There's an 'included' CSP here somewhere.

I likely wont be back there, its about a 4 hr drive! BUT I get what you are saying. I DID email my salesman (and will call if I have to next week), so I'll have to see if he gets back to me.

Anyone perhaps have an idea what the sheet they are supposed to fill out looks like?

Ford lost my truck in shipping, it's going on over a month past the original estimated delivery date. Fortunately they lost it at my dealer so I have had it almost a month now.

Side effect of losing the truck is the paperwork my dealer and I filled out for the charger didn't take. It took 3 calls to sunrun and 2 to the dealers Ford rep, to get my charger shipped. But it arrived yesterday so it's done. Meanwhile yesterday I also got another email from Ford saying sorry about the continued shipping delay on the truck and I should see it early next week...

Hah, thats a fun story :D

After discussing it with my wife, after all of this, we're not likely to install the FCSP anyway, and just stick with our Grizzl-E. We're limited electrically (we park our cars next to an out-building, so getting more power to its breaker-box would require a lot of digging!), so the 50A breaker I have running it is likely it, which the Grizzl-E handles perfectly (AND looks more weather proof, AND has less to 'go wrong').

MY only motivation for it was to get the additional charging features that my wife's Niro has built in (displays charge rate on the dash, power limiting, better scheduling/etc), so I will just live without it until Ford figures out how to put it in our app/dash.

My Ford Charge Station Pro just arrived in a very large box. I assumed a box was in the box. Nope.

8.5 x 11” manual for scale. That sucker’s huge! It’s stored in a spare bedroom for now.

Same! I got mine in yesterday and was amazed by the size of it! It looks pretty cool, though I'm likely not keeping it unless I can get my wife to agree to install a new run from our meter-box...
