I have been a Ford Escape owner since 2006. I started with the Hybrid and then went to 2013 and 2018 gas only models. The new Escapes seem so tiny, that they are no longer an option for me.

When I first saw that Ford was going to build an EV F-150, I got excited! I have never had a pick-up, but always thought I'd like one. The day I placed my reservation they had announced on the WGN Radio - Chicago, that there were 140k reservations already. That was in July 2021. I got my invitation to order about 2 weeks ago and I placed my order the same day. My Lariat is scheduled for production the week of December 5th.

Due to supply chain issues, I won't have the heated stearing wheel, onboard scales, and extended security package, though my dealer said they will be installed, when they become available.

I did reserve a Silverado EV and the Blazer EV, just in case. However, as soon as I get my Lariat, I am canceling those.

I am from the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. I got my invitation to order my Lariat September 8th. I ordered right away. I wonder why my Lariat is projected to come in March while yours is being built in December??

There doesn’t seem to be any sense to the way Ford is doing this…

Woo-hoo! Northwest suburbs! And yes. I lucked out with a July 6th 2021 reservation, ordered April and got delivered late November. I lucked out to order but took wayyyy to long to get delivered as I was in the last production week for 2022. I got a carbonized gray lariat if you ever see me driving around.

That's a good question. Supply chain would not make this come later than mine. Is yours a 2022 model year or 2023?

Hello. I am also in Chicago and will also be a first time pick-up owner. I reserved my Lightning in June of 2021. I am still waiting for my invitation to order but I hope to be a part of the incoming wave of invitations. I did receive the survey Ford sent out in August asking what trim level I may be interested in ordering. Does anybody know of a way to check what wave you are in or if you will be a part of the next wave? I am eager to know my place in line but no one really seems to have a clear answer (dealer or the Ford hotline). Also, does anybody have any information on the delivery lead times by trim level?

I placed my order on November 15 for the Lariat ER. I know it's in production but it's waiting for a chip.
That's going to determine how long the wait is. Then shipping will take time but not as long since we're in Chicago!

Hi everyone,

I got my Lightning. It's great. I truly love it. I have only seen one other Lightning here on the south side and it was a fleet vehicle for United Rentals but hopefully I'll run into another owner or two down here soon as more are released into the wild.

I was also wondering if anyone was interested in purchasing my Ford Charge Station Pro. If you are, let me know. Have a great weekend!
