So the heat in my truck doesn’t work. Just blows cold even on the highest setting. Any ideas?
Sounds like something the dealer needs to look at.

How much heat is given off to the passengers by the battery pack & motor?

Is this the "heater core" seen in the Munro video?

I wonder if the active shutters can be controlled to allow more heat into the interior than "wasted" to the outside during the winter?

I am sure that like Tesla, those shutters are automatically closed if the heat is needed in the cabin.

You need to activate the e-heat button in the climate control page. When it's off, the only heat you get is scavenged from the battery pack/motors.
p156 E-Heat is only available to 15" screen vehicles, Lariat and Platinum.

Update: I sit corrected, as noted below. There is a way to see the E-Heat setting by pushing the XLT vent directions button, left of Auto button, that pops up a sub screen (that only stays up 20 seconds?) on the 12" display. E-heat did not work in Accessory Mode for me, but heat came on in Drive Mode. I think even with the E-heat turned off, it must come on in Auto mode, so why a separate E-heat setting?

WRONG!

E-Heat is the electronic heating of the cabin. It exists on all models. Instructions for turning on the heat in a truck with the 12.3 inch screen are on page 154. The heating is the same, there simply is not an on-screen item called E-Heat to control the heat.

I wonder about the efficiency of using battery capacity to heat the entire cabin with E-heat for a single occupant; verse heating only the driver with a 120volt electric lap blanket.
I read the 2023 Pro has an increase of 10 miles of range (230 to 240 miles) when they planned to include heated seats.

I not aware if that plan for heated seats in the 2023 Pro still exist, but a 120 volt heated cushion may do the same thing?

I'm quite confident heating through conduction (heated seats, steering wheel, blanket) will be more efficient than heating the entire cab. Fortunately the software (at least for Sync 4A-equipped models) uses a driver-focused HVAC mode when you are driving alone.

There are aftermarket heating options for the Pro. Add a blanket and you'll be comfy.

Driver Focused Mode (also on 12.3" Sync 4 screen) is interesting...still waiting on my XLT 312A. As wondered about above, has anyone compared % of trip energy used of full cabin heating/cooling vs. driver focused?
Maybe my heated vest for the motorcycle will come in handy to plug into the 12Vdc?
p154
"HOW DOES DRIVER FOCUSED MODE WORK
When active, driver focused mode automatically shuts off the floor duct on the front passenger side when the front passenger occupancy seat sensor detects no one is on the front passenger seat.
DRIVER FOCUSED MODE LIMITATIONS
The system does not function in the following conditions:
•The outside ambient temperature is 5.0°F (-15°C) or less.
•Defrost or Max Defrost mode is selected.
•Any of the required sensor readings are faulty or disabled.
SWITCHING DRIVER FOCUSED MODE ON AND OFF
Press the button on the touchscreen to access the climate controls. Press Driver Focused.
When active, driver focused mode switches off when any of the following occur:
•You switch it off in the touchscreen.
•You switch dual mode on.
•You adjust the passenger temperature.
•You adjust the passenger heated or cooled seat settings."
I have not seen what shows up on the 12.3" touchscreen when a climate control icon is touched there. I thought the physical pushbuttons below the screen would be the place to start touching.

Oh, I like that they give you that option!
Yep. I hate it when I can't turn heat and A/C on and off separately. Just because I don't want the A/C to cool bow a certain temperature doesn't mean I want to heat up to that temperature. Not as much of an issue with an oil-burning vehicle where heat comes "free" from the abundant waste heat, but I never liked it there either.

If you believe the circle i info blurb next to the E-Heat option, none.

E-Heat
When E-Heat is on, an electric heater is used to warm the cabin and keep the windows from fogging. Turning E-Heat off saves battery power, which extends your driving range. The electric heater is the only source of heat to warm the cabin.

I wonder if the A/C comes on during defrosting to reduce the humidity in the cabin? The manual p150:

"Note: Under certain conditions, the air conditioning compressor could continue to operate after you switch air conditioning off.
Note: To keep the system and its components fully functional, switch air conditioning on and let your vehicle idle at least once per month for a minimum of two minutes."

On the first note, I wonder which "certain conditions"? Wish Ford engineers could be contacted directly!
On the second note, i would think A/C would operate for defrosting, so it would get regular use in the winter time. Maybe they are supposing folks might just continuously have the windows rolled down and that is their preferred "air conditioning", etc.

Update: Testing in accessory mode, the E-heat was set to On (via the XLT climate physical button left of Auto button for vent directions that pops up a sub screen on the 12" display). But the heat would not come on, even when cranked up to 84F. However, when the truck was in Run mode, the heating worked.

The other test was to see what Driver Focused did. I could not tell the difference. Anyone else notice how the air flow changes?
Update: Oops! I had the answer above:
"driver focused mode automatically shuts off the floor duct on the front passenger side when the front passenger occupancy seat sensor detects no one is on the front passenger seat. "
