I finally got the email to configure my truck. Originally, I was looking for an XLT. Things have changed DRAMATICALLY.

-Lowest trim offered was Lariat
-$7,500 rebate will not be available to me (government limited it by salary)
-$8,000 price increase (approximately).

So…I have to bump up a trim level and everything went way up in price. The price of the truck (for me) has gone up about $30,000.

I went and sat in a Lariat at the dealer yesterday (mannequin??). I was honestly a little disappointed with the interior. For an $80,000 truck, it seemed a little cheap. I guess the nice interior is saved for the platinum.

I love my 2015 F-150 XLT. I’m starting to think spending $80K on the electric version doesn’t make a lot of sense.

With all the changes, is anyone else having second thoughts??

I stopped by my dealer, and they did not seem to be in sync with the online buying process. I showed them my reservation number and they acted like it didn’t matter. They were trying to make me believe that I had to order through them (like I was starting all over).

I appreciate any advise from folks who have been down this path and have stayed with the truck OR bailed.

I was always in the market for a Lariat, so the delta isn‘t quite as large, but I am also having second thoughts. My number has yet to come up (day one reservation) but I am still on the fence as to what I’ll do.

If you want the truck, by all means, buy it. If you decide you do not, use your power for good. Cancel your order (as opposed to letting the dealer get it). This act will accomplish two things.

1. A wave of canceled orders sends Ford a message. Believe me, they will hear it (if it happens).
2. The slot will go to another reservation holder, rather then the crook dealer.

I am in different position then you. I need a truck; the one I have is going on 300k miles. I refuse to ever buy an ICE again, so if I have to pay for a Lariat, so be it.

I’ll definitely cancel if I opt not to proceed.

Going through the same thought process and same situation e.g. rebate and price increase. I simply cannot justify the price at this point. Holding onto my day one reservation for now, but increasingly I'm hoping to see Ford come out with a hybrid or EV Bronco which actually fits my lifestyle more than the pickup.

If a plug-in SUV fits your needs, have you looked at the 4XE?

The 4xe only has 25mi of electric range, then swaps to hybrid. It also gets crappier mileage than the straight gas model due to the extra 400# of weight from the batteries and motors. I looked at it but am trying to go pure electric.

For me the F150 is a debate. I was always in the market for a lariat. My current truck is old (2009) but the wheels still go round. I have lusted after an electric truck for years, and now the opportunity is (slowly) approaching. But the price has gone up by freaking $15k, that’s a tough nut to swallow.

I am disappointed the Pro and the XLT are now unavailable so I am looking at the Lariat and spending twice what I was hoping to spend. I am also concerned about the price increase and the removal of the $7500 Federal tax rebate thanks to the disappointing Inflation Reduction Act. If they are serious about climate change, they need to support all electric vehicles and transition into the made in the USA requirement in the next few years to give companies time to adapt and not punish the customers. I have had two Ford Focus Electric vehicles for almost 10 years and they both had State and Federal rebates which made them very affordable. I will never buy an ICE vehicle again because I do not miss the maintenance, oil changes or going to the gas station. I have solar panels and a Tesla battery so charging at home is very economical. I do need a truck for yard waste and dump runs and our 1992 GMC finally died. I will not get another hybrid because they are very complicated engines that are expensive to fix compared to the electric (due to move moving parts and integrated systems), so I hope more people become aware of that issue.

I’m straight up cancelling my order… hope someone else can move up a spot. I could try and flip it or sell to my dealer to make a quick buck… but that just seems wrong with the number of people on the list. If this truck had better range (400), all the gizmos they promised (before chip shortage), and could actually tow something further than 150 miles I’d probably buy one. Maybe in a few years I’ll relook at this and the Chevy.
