I have a Tesla tap (CSS to Tesla)
It worked with my volt but tried it on my lightning & would not charge trying level 2 Tesla charger

I'm not familiar with the CSS to Tesla variety.

If you are using the Tesla Level 2 to J1772 adapter, make sure you plug it into the Tesla cord first, wait for 15-20 seconds, then plug into truck.

Actually ThecTesla tap is Tesla to CSS again it works fin with Volt but no go with thenLightning to this point.

The Volt doesn't have CCS.... It's J1722

I have that same "tap" with my Tesla Wall Connector and it has charged my Lightning with no issue.

Make sure your Lightning SOC is less than your charge setting. Make sure wall connector is ready to charge (green). Make sure Tesla Tap Mini isn’t water logged if used outdoors. I had to oven bake mine once due to water. I use a drain spout now to prevent that happening. Try to charge a Tesla or another non Tesla EV to help troubleshoot problem.
