I reserved within the first 24 hours so I would imagine I am going to be among the first group to order. I have not received anything yet. Looking at a Lariat with standard range for just under 70k. May stick with my Rivian order TBH. Not sure yet.

Yep!! honestly the process will be a bit frustrating for a lot of us that reserved right away - I reserved mine the moment the website allowed for a reservation to be made, which was about 30min prior to the official announcement....but I don't think this matters much since Ford is still working with dealer allocation and 'priorities'....so if you are in one of the states that get lots of rebates, AWESOME for you!

I just got an email from my dealership that said they are only getting ONE first wave order.... uuugggg I ordered about 80% through the show and I am way down my dealerships list... This is going to take a while clearly

Originally I was told that I was #1 with my original CT Dealer and as time went on finally was told a few weeks ago MSRP with no mark up and then the mandatory add on fees came in that really ticked me off. I changed to Grappone Ford in NH that committed to MSRP and only a $549 Admin fee. I was told they would not be prioritizing but that it looked like out of 125 reservations I would be #8. Today I was told they were only allotted 1 in the first wave.
Can someone explain how a dealer with 125 reservations is only allotted 1 Lightning first wave and when and how are other waves going to be handled?

Reservation was made at end of first day. Got a call this morning from my dealer this morning asking me to come in and place the order. Appointment was made for Friday, I'll know more then. No word yet on any markups or extra fees. I called my insurance company to get an idea of the cost for the Lightning, not a good experience. It appears the agent has never heard of electric vehicles and ended up quoting for a ICE Lariat. My first clue she didn't have one was when she asked how many cylinders the EV would have. Anyone been able to get an insurance quote yet?

I have an appointment Thursday at 10:30 to order. #2 at my dealer (getting 5 as a smaller dealer). I did my Lariat ext battery config and sent my rep the pdf just to have on hand tomorrow.

I did e-mail my rep Monday morning as I knew Jan 6 was first day to order. He called right back and set it up. I'll report back on the process. Going to do the deposit tomorrow and try to get the signed sales contract to make sure MSRP is locked in (I've never had any issues in Western NY with ADM - my wife drives the high demand RAV4 Prime XSE and we paid straight list on that).

Color/options etc. I get ford employee pricing, A plan, so they can NEVER add ANY extra charge...ZERO worry for me regarding ADM fees. I DID receive my Bronco sasquatch on october 28th and my hybrid maverick on Dec 23rd...so I am on a roll....

Sounds like a new insurance company is in order...I have NOT looked at getting a quote on my lighting, BUT I have owned 2 all electric vehicles and insurance was always easy and reasonable. Both were 2012 models, Ford and Mitsubishi.

NOTE that full EV costs are substantially more due mostly to collision repair (more aluminum and composite panels vs steel and battery costs if damaged). My son went from a VW GTI Autobahn to an Ioniq Limited Electric and his annual with same coverages went from approx $600 to $900.

My wife went from a 2018 Hyundai Tucson to a PHEV (2021 RAV4 Prime XSE) and the rates barely changed because PHEVs are viewed same as Hybrids.

I'm not going to argue that....but if your really worried about a 300/yr insurance increase, you should be able to balance that out by the savings on fuel/maintenance savings...

Agreed. Especially if you primarily charge at home and get VTOU (Voluntary Time Of Use) rates. In EV friendly states, the rates are close nothing, so essentially free charging.

How are you liking your Bronco? We got ours in August and absolutely love it, zero problems with it knock on wood. We went 4Door Obx, 2.7, Sasquatch, High, Soft top. We have a Mach E currently as well, really loving Ford's new line up, obviously lol. Hopefully my Lightning res gets me in on the fist few waves, I was 2 weeks late preordering so who knows....

State Farm gave us zero issues insuring our Mach E. I think we pay 240/mo for my Mach E, '21 Bronco, and our home insurance. Seems pretty good too me. I know some people pay 240/mo just for one vehicle....
