Grid Transfer Switch and Critical Loads Panel For Vehicle to Home Operation With Grid Down?

How does Ford recommend addressing the requirement in US building codes that energy sources connected to the grid shut down when the grid goes down or be connected to the grid using an automatic transfer switch to disconnect the energy source from the grid? This is a safety feature for utility workers, among other things.

Also, most home backup systems use a separate critical loads breaker panel or intelligent load panel so that critical loads can be powered without overloading the generator or draining the batteries without depending on someone to manually turn off breakers or individual loads. How does Ford recommend addressing this issue?

I prefer a text reference rather than video, if possible.

If anyone want references for my statements above, please let me know.

For my solar installation last year a smart switch was installed as part of my system. It includes power to my entire home. Since SunRun is the preferred installer I’m sure part of their plan is to offer solar as part of their install. There will be additional cost to use your Lightning for a backup generator for your home. Trenching, panel upgrades will cost extra. It appears that installing the 80amp charger as a charger only is the only part that is included in the cost of the 80amp charger. They state as much on their website. For my home I use Enphase products.

I'm not reading that on their web site - there is no installation included of the Pro Charger. Their site sates "Electric Vehicle Charging installation price: Coming soon1"

I was browsing both the Ford and SunRun site the other day, my mistake for posting the link believing I had read it there. If I see it while I’m browsing I’ll update it.
*The only thing I saw while checking the site is that no the installation is not included in the purchase of a Lightning. *

Additional news (I don't know if has been posted elsewhere in this forum):

1) Blackstart battery is required along with transfer switch for automatic reconnection to the grid after an outage:

2) The charger connection actually uses the high power DC connection for reverse power flow, presumably so that the actual high power DC to AC inverter is located in the house rather than on the truck, which gets around figuring out how to meet the local interconnection rules for every local jurisdiction the truck might be plugged into (such as "smart inverter" requirements in CA):

3) Siemens is also involved in the "Intelligent Power" option. Also from ref. 1) above:

"In the future, Ford will introduce additional F-150 Lightning features to help customers potentially save money and take pressure off the electric grid during peak usage. Ford Intelligent Power, for example, will allow customers to power their homes with their truck’s battery when electricity rates are higher, while charging the truck when rates are lower – or from their own solar-powered rooftop. This load shift can also help buffer the load on the nation’s grid and help reduce the use of higher carbon energy without affecting daily routines or charging schedules†††.

Retail customers will need to have the Ford Charge Station Pro – developed together with Siemens – and Home Integration System installed, and standard range customers will also need to purchase the same one-time from Ford to enable the feature. Commercial customers can work with Ford Pro to plan an appropriate home charging installation.
