I have reservation since August. I am wanting electric vehicle that I can charge with solar energy which I want to add .
Last winter Central TX had unusual winter storm. My area was without electric for several days then rolling blackout for more days. It will be nice to have the backup power from the Lightning. Of course the frunk is perfect for trips to grocery store.
So are you talking about a home solar installation or literally putting panels on the truck. If it's the latter, you won't get much charging from such a small area of panels.
I am talking to an electrician who is familiar with solar installations. It will be whole house provided it is in my budget. I talked up the Lightning so much he is now considering the Pro model for his business.
Perfect. A home solar system is a great complement to an EV. You’ll definitely be able to keep the Lightning charged with it. The Lightning will give you a great battery backup, too.
The nay sayers talk about not enough electricity for everyone to drive EVs and charge them. I am interested in the EV because I see a need to transition from fossil fuel and for my way of thinking the solar power is my way to address those issues.
