I know this sounds silly but…Has anyone determine where to mount a front license plate? I have a 2022 Lariat Lightning and concerned about airflow. The truck came with accessory to mount it and looks like you have to pop rivet it on. Just curious because I am going to dealer to install it but don’t trust them.

where i live, the front plate only needs to be affixed if there is a bracket, I request my dealers to not attach the brackets.

I think I read in one of the forums that Ford did not include a front license plate bracket with those Lightnings being shipped to states that require only a rear license tag. Georgia is one of those states.

If I wanted to put a tag on the front of my Lightning, I would need to purchase a bracket from Ford or an aftermarket supplier. Anyone have the Ford part number for the front license plate bracket to be used on a 2022 Lightning Lariat? Anyone know of an aftermarket supplier?

My bracket came with the vehicle. Did you check the frunk?

It is part of the configuration process, you can check a box to get the front license plate mount at "No Charge".

I am in a front license plate state, dealer called before they drilled and asked if I really wanted them to drill bumper.

I had them kick it down the road for as long as I have temp tags, but nearing plate time now. I am debating fabricating a bracket that bolts onto the drivers side tow hook attachment point, and holds the license plate just off of the front opening. Has anyone else done anything like this?

Yes, I checked the frunk when I brought the vehicle home from the dealer six weeks ago. Just for grins, I checked it again this morning, and the only thing in the frunk is the home charger kit.

Should be well below the parking sensors, I thought the radar was in the windshield?

I guess you were correct, at least for the ICE models it's behind that piece of plastic.
It looks like I'll be shifting that idea to the passenger side.

SENTRI (faster border crossing into the USA from Mexico), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) require a front number plate. I was warned if I attempted to cross (back to the USA) without one again, I was at risk of having my SENTRI status revoked.

In fear of impacting the sensor systems, I have scheduled the dealer to install the front bracket.

I used one of these with it to make it a bit stiffer, in hindsight I don't know that i needed to.

that’s false. Arizona doesn’t even offer a front license plate.
