Very happy to announce I took delivery of 2022 F150 Lightning Lariat last Wednesday.

I'm using the home mobile charger for now and have a problem with the FordPass preferred scheduling. I think it's dumb about the timezone.

My wife has a Subaru plug-in hybrid and if both mobile chargers are active the 15-Amp circuit breaker will trip.

I attempted to create a non-conflicting schedule using FordPass and MySubaru. It doesn't work, and I surmise the fault lies with timezone management.

Considering the problem, the relative strengths of the organizations involved, and my lack of inclination to debug the problem, I plan to solve using Amazon Alexa controlled switches and create reliable routines and scheduling.

I share this here for comment and deeper insight. There are a lot of data points and I have jumped to an early conclusion.

Thanks, I’ll check for that. However, for now I have used Alexa enabled switches in-line on the feed to the power. Thus I’m able to control charge through Alexa routines and scheduling for reliability and improved integration. Hopefully a tighter integration of features will be available via the FordPass-Alexa integration in the future to replace my brute force approach.

Nice work around.

Have you tried reading page 214 of the manual?

Please link to page 214 or paste the content. I am out of the country and don't know how I would be able to read the referenced page.

I am all for RTFM (read the f manual) responses. However, in the modern world, links are more helpful.
I mean…google exists for a reason! You got the problem, someone was nice enough to give you the page you need…so ?!

Thanks. Here I am on cell phone in Guadalajara. I have posted it here so OTHERS will not have to search.

This was the page proposed as solving the mystery.

Now I have studied this page and cannot see how this solves the time zone problem I suspect exists.

Perhaps someone can see what I am missing.

Do you have your truck in Mexico? How is the charging down there (I too travel a lot in Mexico, and plan on doing so with the truck)?

The truck is in California (Ontario). I flew down.

However, I have been speaking with people about EVs here, and there is level 2 charging to be found. DC fast charge is notable by its absence. Even the Tesla infrastructure is limited here.

Closer to the USA border, there are more signs of EV life, driven primary by cross-boarder traffic from the USA.

Sadly EV use in Mexico exists mainly in the form of urban plug-in hybrid. With large distances between major cities, there will need to be a significant change to attitudes before significant uptake of full electric will occur.

I saw that someone used the wall charger for the Lightning and used the on board power to charge a second vehicle.
Yes, daisy chain charging works, and can be done quite easily. I did it with my wife's car (Subaru Crosstreck Hybrid) as a test. We need to clear some room in the garage and then we can fit the F150 inside, this will allow me the option of charging the F150 and from the F150 to the Subaru. This will limit the draw in house power.

Others have successfully powered their travel trailer from their F150 while it is being DC fast charged. This provided a comfortable and air-conditioned space to hang out while charging.

The utility of the Lightning is clear, the disappointment is with the EA fast charge infrastructure, which suffers from atrocious availability and wildly inconsistent reliability, and piss poor layout planning. This last point means F150 drivers need to be very careful with their doors. Those stupidly short defence posts cannot be seen from inside the F150 when opening the doors, and the space given is consumed by the F150 such that parking clear of the posts isn't easy.

That also may be the best solution for charging a Leaf.
