Is anyone else having issues with updating past power-up 3.1? I received a notification of 3.2.1 weeks ago and accepted but it never updated. And yes, wifi is connected and strong. I even took it to my local dealer who said they updated it to 3.5.1 but when I picked it up, it still said 3.1. Very frustrating. I don’t see anyone else posting any issues. I got mine Lightning June 3rd and love it. I would just like the new features and to get past recall.

I just got the 3.4.0 OTA last night, no problem. I haven't tested it yet though. (Didn't see a 3.5 announced yet.) When my truck was delivered, automatic updates were turned off, even though that should be the default. Once I figured that out, no issues.

Mine are definitely turned on. I am guessing the dealership doesn’t know what they are doing yet. They are EV certified but guess that might not mean much. As far as the version..I did not see it either but thought dealers get revisions sooner but I don’t know for sure.

I opened a ticket with Ford Customer service who basically told me to wait. When I pushed back and asked to escalate, they told me they would and I should take it back to the dealer. I will update this if I hear back. I doubt very much.

It took my truck 3 nights of trying to update and finally on the third night it successfully updated to 3.4.
The only difference in night 3 and the first two was that I did have my truck charging on night 3 versus not charging on the first two tries. Nothing I seen said that should matter as long as the charge was above 50 which it was.

Another weird thing it did was, after it updated (at 3 AM), it continued charging until I stopped it at 6:30 AM when it was at 95%. My charge scheduled has the truck only charge to 80%, so the update must have thrown that off somehow as well. I assume the truck was trying to charge to 100% after the update.

If you are charging while update is happening, I read it will pause and then continue after the update. Maybe the new default is 95? In my case, I have been well over 50% and charging. Maybe patience is what I need.

I received an update overnight (January 4, 2023) that is supposed to improve accuracy of the Guess-O-Meter. Update was scheduled for 0100 and went on schedule. My truck was plugged in to my Level 2 charger (Ford Portable Charger that came with the truck) and set for 85% charge. Battery reached 85% hours before the update, then after the update it resumed charging all the way to 100%. Additionally, PaaK stopped working following update. I’ve been using Paak exclusively for the last couple months and my truck said “No Key Detected” when I got in it this morning. I have to finish my coffee before I continue trying to figure this out. But now I have a completely full battery and no trips to make, so I guess I’ll drive around town with the heater on for a while… 🙄

Oh, and the GOM displayed 236 miles at 100% charge this morning which is where it started when the truck was new. That’s not so surprising though, as I imagine it wants to start fresh and adjust to my driving style once more.

Charging often goes to 100%immediately after a PowerUp is installed.

Ford still has a problem that PowerUps cause issues with PaaK and other saved preferences. They have said they are working on that issue but don't seem to have solved it yet.

Thanks for the information. I’ll try to avoid charging during future updates. 👍

PaaK came back to life sometime later in the day. Not sure exactly what restored it. I did reconnect bluetooth through my iPhone (no pairing code needed, just told the phone to connect again), but PaaK still didn’t start functioning again until several hours later. I believe bluetooth automatically disconnects when Apple Carplay is active, so that may have been what I observed. Anyway, while PaaK was unavailable the truck prompted me for the backup code and that allowed me to start it, so that’s good to know. I used the key fob for a few short trips and on the last one I noticed the headlights had remained on (I could see my truck from inside the store) and I was able to remotely lock the truck using my phone. This morning PaaK was fully functional once again.

As with many issues in Ford's software. Give it a day and see if it goes back to normal.

This is the update I seem to be stuck on. I got one in November without issue but this update 3.5 (I think) just wont go. If I tell it to update manually it fails and if I wait and let it try on the schedule it fails. Every time I am plugged in and charged. I thought it might be that I had the onboard power turned on but even after shutting that off it still fails. It's been a few days now but I'll keep trying new things to see if I can get it to work. If anyone figures out what is causing it to fail for them let me know.

I am in the exact same boat. First update that hasn’t worked and it’s been days telling me the same thing. Reconnected the internet, did it charging and not charging, got the power% up. Hoping it just magical works one night cause I’m out of ideas.

Mine has failed at least 10 times. Tried all kinds of different methods. Does Ford have a dedicated Tech Support # I can call? Don't want to call dealership as I can't imagine they'll want to deal with this.

Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your Lightning concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.

Have you already tried hooking up a battery charger or a trickle charger to the tiny little garden tractor battery they use right behind the front panel as a starter battery? Mine updates every time provided I hook up a trickle charger to this joke of a battery. Otherwise it doesn’t work.

When you open your frunk at the very back, there is a panel with a 12 V battery icon on it. Slide it up to expose the starter battery. It has one just like your gas car. If you put a 12v charger on it, my guess is your update will work. It has for me and several others. It appears that 12 battery -/having a perpetually low state of change especially in cold weather—seems to be preventing updates from uploading
