Could this be due to semiconductor chip shortages?

Unlikely as that would push back delivery plans. I suspect it is due to uncertainty over the Reconciliation Bill before Congress. The climate portion could contain language on new BEV purchase incentives that could influence buying patterns (rebates based on MSRP, etc.). It makes sense for Ford to wait out that uncertainty.

I guess we'll all find out tomorrow if orders start or we have to wait. Fingers crossed that it's the former.
