Interesting concept. The key to patents is not if it works or if they ever implement it - they wrote it down first. The concept could make them money some day.

Hmm. They are just trying to magnetize spots on the bed so I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. The mechanical mechanism they propose is basically what’s in a magnetic tool base. The size of the magnets they show in the drawing though are huge. If those were ND magnetics that could be several thousand pounds of force, which would be super dangerous if it was left turned on and someone didn’t know about it. Think crushed hands when someone loads up their tool box and sets it down in the wrong spot.

It could be a great way to keep kids and dogs from sliding around in the bed. :p
