The prices are totals.

Dealers are free to resell at any profit level. What's useful about this post is that you now know what they are paying, so you can be an educated consumer. There's multiple online dealers that will sell at cost, or near cost. I've found that for my last three purchases, this kind of information was invaluable - when the Finance Manager does their sales push, I can talk them down quickly (it's more convenient to roll it in with the purchase, IMHO), or I can leave it. You don't need to buy right away, just within 12 months (and maybe a number of miles?), otherwise the prices go up. This means if your dealer won't play, you can just use an online dealer.

Also, some online dealers will do things like partner with Budco for 12 months, 0% interest payment plans, which makes it a lot easier to swallow, at least in my mind, if it's not rolled into your car payment.

This information was very useful. I’ve never bought an extended warranty on a vehicle but given the complexity, lack of long term reliability data and general non-diy fixit nature of most of the major systems on these vehicles I decided it was a must have. The warranty is tranferrable and I went with the Extra care option which was the same price from the dealer as Base care. They said the Extra option includes routine maintenance but those items didn’t apply to the EV (eg oil changes).

I understand there is a lot of unknown about these new trucks, but regardless of price the extended warranty is always priced for Ford to make money, whether you pay mark up to a dealer or not.
