A Ford F-150 Lightning Pro was spotted entering the front security gate at the GM Proving Grounds. Prototypes of the Chevrolet Silverado EV haven't been spotted doing preproduction development yet so it looks like GM is going to be using the Lightning as a benchmark for the Silverado EV.

Unless GM somehow bought this truck under a commercial fleet program, the Lightning Pro here is likely the base, standard range model that's good for 230 miles. It would be a direct competitor to the Silverado EV WT.

Interesting... it looks like it has a manufacturer's license plate - that would indicate it's still Ford owned.

All manufacturers have those plates. So GM put their plate for insurance reason on that truck. Being based in Michigan; they both will have same MI OEM plates.
