Excellent point! the whole rebate thing is a scam to the tax payer. They are not motivating anybody to do anything. Just a kickback.

I placed my res on day one. Plan was go get a Lariat LR. They just announced $8900 price increase. Nope. There will be a lot of happy people who are way down on the res list because a lot of us will pass at these prices.

I just bought a Mach E and the dealer added $5K to the list, I paid it because I wanted a quick replacement for my totaled Tesla, but frankly, it's just an ok BEV, nothing really special about it. Not worth the 5K over sticker I paid.

I'm sure the dealer will add $5K to the Lightning as well (maybe more), but I'm done with this. Ford and the dealers are just getting greedy. I'll hang onto my Silverado ICE.

This is where I say no thanks. I was under the impression there weren't going to be any surprises even with the rising cost of materials. I think it's time to demand repayment of my $100 interest free loan. Really rotten.

Don't mind the increase but being skipped as 1st day RESERVATION HOLDER vs reservations placed much later already driving their Lightnings at 2022 prices. Now that blows my mind...Ford should honor at least 2021 5/19/21 customers WHO didn't get invite to order and got skipped!!! Great product Jim Farley, company integrity doubtful. Disappointed customer.

At $100 total investment, you're not much of a customer, more like a prospect, and yes, I'm a 5/19 guy waiting myself.
Things are more expensive, much more expensive.

Think about it this way, how much do you think it cost Ford to ramp their production rate, their original 2021 plan was 20K units per year, and the planning team would have prepared and set up pipelines for that much material, including battery, etc.

Ford honored you and I by expanding production, otherwise, there would be zero dealers selling at MSRP, I mean, I can't think of another car limited to 20K units per year with 10 years of backlogged production pre-sold? Ford had an obvious choice to make, expand production greatly, and pay through the nose for materials, smash walls in their NEW factory and buy 7x the equipment, etc.

Ford made the decision to go much more aggressive and ordered an additional 130K units worth of battery, chips and expands factory to accommodate this growth. What suppliers have 130K worth of additional battery, chips at 2021 negotiated prices?

This added cost has been passed on to 2023+ buyers.

I agree with the overall sentiment of fairness - first in line - first to receive the truck. I have watched a ton of videos and depending on the dealership you (and I) chose will greatly impact when you get the truck. Had we known there was a priority queue of dealerships we obviously would have used that in the calculation. Apparently had we chose just about anything in Michigan we would have the truck by now and for far cheaper.

But imagine you got an invite and passed it up because you thought you could still get a 39k truck!!!!

there has been some uncool things about who got a truck but some of it seems to be dealer related and not F. anyways I have a truck built but not delivered as yet and i am ordering a second for our business as its just a no brainer with fuel prices in Canada.

My biggest gripe is that they are not following the order in which they received the reservations...

Given the market conditions and potential tax breaks, price hikes are inevitable. Companies use us as an intermediatory to get money from govt... EV tax breaks --> automakers get rich.. stimulus checks --> amazon gets rich. etc etc..
