Ford has launched the F-150 Lightning Customer Satisfaction Private Offer program to help F-150 Lightning reservation and order holders avoid the 2023 price increase.

Officially called the Ford F-150 Lightning Customer Satisfaction Private Offer, this new program has been launched to protect 2022 reservation and order holders against 2023 price increases when they convert their orders. Any unscheduled 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning retail customer order that gets converted to a 2023 order is eligible for the offer, as well as any 2022 reservation holders who chose the “Extend My Reservation” option for an unavailable configuration. These customers must complete their order conversion by September 30th, 2022 to qualify for the offer, however.

As we can see in the chart above, the figures from the new Ford F-150 Lightning Customer Satisfaction Private Offer match up perfectly with the pickup’s corresponding price increases, essentially locking in 2022 model year pricing for carryover customers. As Ford Authority reported yeserday, 2023 F-150 Lightning order conversion invitations will be sent out in waves, starting on August 11th for those with a reservation for a Pro trim F-150 Lightning, followed by a second wave involving XLT trimmed pickups on August 24th, while a third wave of invitations will follow in mid-September for all other unconverted reservation holders. More information on the third wave will be available next month, as will details regarding any remaining, unconverted reservations.

My dealer knew nothing about this. I believe I qualify since I extended my reservation for the 2022 Pro and ordered mine on Thursday when the first invitations went out. I asked him yesterday, and he had no idea. He said this has nothing to do with dealers and that any rebates would come from Ford corporate. Is this something I need to contact Ford about now??

This is a great offer from Ford for those who extended their reservations because your 2022 trim level was sold out. You get a 2023 with all of the improvements for the same price as a 2022.

I have the same question....how do I educate the dealer and get it applied? When I went online yesterday to place my order, it said that I was eligible, and although the higher price was shown, the discount to previous prices would be applied later by the dealer. When I talked to the dealer today they said they heard something was "out there" but that if Ford was offering it to me, it was between me and Ford. They sent me a copy of my order with the higher price and the higher price shows online. What do I need to do, and at what point in the process, to make sure this is applied. It's a 511 Lariat with extended battery, so it is $8.500.

I had my dealer check this out with his regional Ford rep. This program is not being offered to Canadian order holders that get bumped to the 2023 model as of yet. Ford Canada has not committed to this program.

Hopefully they change their stance in Canada. We converted our order in August, and I just talked to our dealer and he had no knowledge of the offer or the official Ford Canada stance on this that you mention. I have sent an email to the Chief Customer Officer of Ford that announced the price projection, so hopefully it brings some awareness to this.

Didn't someone post in another thread that this offer now is being applied in Canada as well?

I have a 23 XLT on order from Sept 7, 2022. I believe I qualify for the Customer Satisfaction Private Offer. I talked to Ford and to the dealer. Neither could give me any reassurance. Someone at Ford said I should contact the Ford field zone manager for this area to ask them.
Of course, Ford would not tell me who that person is. Any ideas who to contact? I live in San Luis Obispo, Calif. Thanks in advance for any help!

I first called Ford and they said a code was present on my account under my reservation number. They said to verify with my dealer. My dealer said that they wouldn’t know until the VIN number is created as they said the Private Offer is linked to the VIN number which allows them to add the private offer to the purchase agreement with the specific VIN. I feel there is so much different information but I got the most clarity from the Ford rep that said they saw a offer code present on my account. Still no VIN or production date from my 23 XLT order from 8/25 wave 2. Maybe try calling Ford again as I’ve gotten different information from different Ford reps?

Thanks Wiseguy,
Yeah, different info from different reps. Some follow the prompts on their screen and thats it. Others will dig further to try to really help. I don’t have the code present. For a savings of $6500, I really want to have that code on my account too. I’ll keep digging with them.
I appreciate your reply. Enjoy your truck when you get it. Best regards.

Just got my VIN assigned and was able to confirm with the ford rep that my order includes the code for the private offer. Will see how smoothly it goes at the dealer. Production scheduled week of 10/24 Pro trim.

Wait, is this a 2023 Pro? I thought production on these was still a year out.

I should have qualified for the price increase protection “Private Offer” based on my reservation and order timeline and converting to 2023 according to a Ford customer service rep. Reservation 5/20/2021. Order Date: 09/09/2022. Purchased 12/31/2022 However, when my Lariat ER (Tri-coat, Max Trailer, Bed liner) arrived the private offer wasn’t in the system “Vincent”. I had to pay the full MSRP with the price increase which came to $95,500. Is there anything I can do now to get a rebate on that price protection? Has anyone else had the same issue and received anything from Ford? I started a Ford Customer Satisfaction Complaint about this, my app, and my broken charger issues. I will let you know if they do anything about it.

If you ordered 9/9/22 you likely do not qualify. You had to have an order, not a reservation, in place for a model year 2022 Lariat that was then pushed to model year 2023. Your original order (not reservation) would have had to been placed prior to May 2022. The only other people who qualified for the private offer were people who extended their reservation back in April when they received an order invitation but extended their reservation because Pro and XLT were sold out.

Yep I believe Jim is correct here.
