Ford has apparently been sending emails to people saying that they will be sending out invitations soon for ordering the 2023 Lightning.

Has anyone received an email like this one?

I got this email and an email from my dealer telling me I should be good to order. Still on the fence on what I want to do. Was thinking lariat er before the price hike. Now I’m trying to convince myself that an xlt in standard range is enough.

I'm in the same position. I was looking to get a maxed out Lariat, but that price hike sucks.

I have a '21 Mach E Premium AWD ER that I can sell if I need to. I checked Carvana and they offered me what I paid, so basically a free car for a year and a half. I'd like to keep it though. Great car.

Yep same story with my ‘17 sierra. 50k miles on it and valued 5k less than I paid. I think it’s worth a go as 95% of the time SR for me is just fine, but the 5% where I need some distance will be painful. Need to find some friends for a vehicle swap on those weekends. Or just rent a gasser.

I didn't get this email (reservation date of 5/20/21) BUT as a consolation prize I got a nice survey asking how my experience has gone and what trim I would purchase if I had an opportunity to do so.

Unpopular opinion: order, receive, sell, put the profit toward what you buy next..

That assumes the current financial bubble hasn't been popped by the feds, and the lightning is still a hot item. Gas prices back in the threes, EVs lose a lot of their luster.

I ordered a lariat ER. My stake is just the $100 refundable reservation, since I did the order process through the dealer. Very much doubt I would keep the truck so if conditions are right next Spring, it's a flip or if conditions not favorable the dealer will get it.

Yes. But no. The dealer is not locked in until the order offer.

Thanks. Cancelled my initial order after being told by my assigned dealer that they would be adding a market adj mark up. I'm so impressed by the reviews but will not pay a markup over MSRP. It is only $100 but I just don't want to play games with the dealership.Guess I'll be lurking here for a couple of years until Ford completes their transition.

Used market in the Portland OR area seems to be settling down. Flippers and dealerships are reducing mkt adj prices. Still way over msrp. Wonder when the 2023's will be arriving.

For me its Cybertruck or Lightning. Depends on who can get me a truck at the right price in a reasonable amount of time.
