According to Ford Authority, Ford sold 1,918 new Lightnings in September for a total of 8,760 since it’s launch in June.

It appears that they are only building about 100 Lightnings a day. At this rate it will be 2024 before my 5/21/21 reserved Lightning gets built, and given that Ford is raising prices every 45 days, my life savings will not be sufficient to buy one. ☹

inflation is likely the reason for low production at this time. Inflation: too much $$ chasing too few goods. The Fed is not currently supporting the economy. The Fed is working on killing buyers by increasing rates. Manufacturers knowing most new car purchases are financed, need to keep inventories low to maintain demand from a decreasing pool of buyers. If you have cash you are in the drivers seat for deals coming. The jobs report released Friday still indicates record low unemployment. Still too many buyers, so expect more rate increases till. Inflation must be broken at the expense of the economy at this point. Be nice to your employer, there’s going to be a lot more competition for your job going forward. Hyundai Iioniq 5 sales have dropped off for the last 2 months as well.

my build week of 7/25 was for 674 units, received and purchased in August... so, 100 per day sounds about right for this last month, and quarter, of reported 'sales'...

100 per work day, for 200 working days of the year, would equate to 20,000 per year...
it will take more like 750 per working day to get to their goal of 150,000 per year...

Agreed. Ford was supposed to up production to 80,000 in MY 2023, then later announced they were knocking out a wall to expand the REV-C and reach 150,000 per year rate by the end of 2023. We should see two accelerations in production during the next year.

while we can hope, I can also imagine they've run into other typical 'covid' issue that may not allow that to happen so easily - 'plans' are one thing, finding workers is another. Finding parts is priority one, and will stymy even the best laid plans even WITH all the workers on board. We'll see. It's certainly a discombobulation right now.
