My center console (armrest) doesn't stay up. Once I open it, it flops down. As it is I have to use two hands to use it to get something from the center console.

Anyone else having this problem or have any advice to fix it?

That problem isn’t unique to the Lightning

Armrest lid FIXED:
Complete write-up with how to. This repair will cost about $0.10 and 2 minutes.
Tools needed: Slotted screwdriver
Lift up the armrest. With the free hand, remove the trim piece directly below the spring to reveal the entire spring, hinge and bracket. The springs each have one "leg" that rests against the metal bracket; those are what will be adjusted.
Take two nickels from your coin holder and set aside. With the slotted screwdriver, gently pry/lift up one of the legs on one of the springs. Slide nickel below raised leg and remove screwdriver. Repeat for the other spring. Now, let go of the armrest and BAM! Stays up!

Seriously?!? I don’t know whether to laugh or laugh harder. Did I really just buy an $80k vehicle to Mikey Mouse a fix on it?

So would this fix be considered nickel and diming or just nickeling? 😇
LOL. That's sad, but funny.

I contacted the dealer to see what they could do, because I'd rather not have to fix this every year when the nickel rattles out of the spring.

Seriously, does everyone's center console do this? Because some people are saying this is an intentional feature. I think a few of them just have springs that are installed incorrectly.

Add superglue.

Yes. Not only all Lightnings, all F-150s with that armrest. I’ve read speculation/rumor that a stronger spring was considered a safety issue as it could knock the driver’s arm or interfere with driving if it accidentally opened.

Yeah, that's a bummer. On such a great truck, this is the only true physical issue.

I went ahead and did the nickel adjustment, but it's still not a solid fix. It still flops a bit. the spring should have way more pull and strength. But it is what it is.
