Do you know if any information has come out from ford on their loan option rates? Any incentives?
Good question. I'll look into that.

Just a reminder to never take a loan directly through dealer unless you know market rates. Threaten to go elsewhere for loan and the dealer rates magically drop. Financing guys at dealers get bigger kickbacks the higher the rate they lock you into.

Unfortunately, interest rates are on the rise. By the time most of us get our vehicles, the Feds will have raised rates again. The next one is expected to be a double raise (1/2% rather than just 1/4%). Cost of money is going up at a significant pace. Mortgage rates were in the high 2% range just a couple of months ago, now they're at 5%.

Ford's lease-like option seems to be a pretty attractive offer. Get all the benefits of ownership and leasing in the same go. With Ford planning to announce a completely all new version of the F-150 designed from the ground up to be an EV within a year, who knows how values will hold up on the current version as it will be a bit antiquated when the new one gets released. That option gives you an easy out if resale value plummets.

I received some input from a friend in Ford Finance:

"I won’t see anything until the program is published. If I had to guess I would think the rates would be low (like the GT MME vs non-GT). I would think that it should also have a higher residual value percentage than the MME too. I think since the Lightning is so expensive they will have more aggressive programs to help keep the monthly payments lower."

So, looking at a similarly priced F-150 would be one way to estimate the standard loan rates. Similarly, looking at a Mach E GT is one way to estimate Ford Options rates.

We'll have to wait a little longer to see the actual rates. My guess is they will be announced on April 26.
