Hi all .. newbie here. My wife and I live in Northern Michigan and reserved a Lightning on 5/20/21 (order #10846673) and we finally were able to place an order on June 20, 2022 for a 2022 Lariat. I’ve owned a 2014 Tesla S, and traded that in for a 2017 Tesla S. We will trade in my wife’s Prius for the Lightning. I’m very comfortable going all electric. We have driven the Tesla to visit family in Boston, New Jersey, Raleigh, as well as side trips to Charleston and elsewhere. and have never had charging issues or range anxiety. I hope I can contribute some of our experience here in this forum to ease anyone’s transition.

Considering that we only have 13 more production weeks left to model year 2022, and Ford likes to have VINS issued ~30 days in advance you should have your build week and VIN by the end of August, if not sooner.

Thanks for that info. I sure hope you’re correct. When I read that Ford will start taking orders in October for the 2023 model year I became very optimistic.

I think you meant start manufacturing MY 23 in October. Ordering for those should start in the next month. (Hoping I finally get to order; put in my reservation morning of May 20, 21.)

There is a new post in this forum that indicates ordering for 2023 MY will begin October 26. I do hope Ford continues to keep us informed.

That article is from September of 2021 that was for last year.

My Lightning now is scheduled for production on 15-August. As others have noted, I never got an email from Ford, but checked my Reservations page and saw the update. I’m very happy.

I received the following email from FORD. I followed the link and selected the model I want etc. Am I stuck with this model or I can change when I am asked to place real order?
"Thank you for reserving an F-150® Lightning™. Your front seat to the all-electric future is coming. To help move us forward with production planning, we need some details from you about the truck you plan to order. The information you provide will help us determine when to reach out to you again about ordering. Note that we expect nearly all of our current reservation holders will be invited to order by next summer."

I think they are just gauging interest. You should be able to choose whatever available model you wish to order at that time.
